Pretend play is one of the best experiences to allow the children to explore their imagination! The children’s social and language skills are heavily used in this experience as they interact with one another. The children can be anything from astronauts to shop keepers to teachers and so much more. Today the children wanted to utilize our indoor cafe setup. Since it was such a beautiful morning we took it outside! We had cupcakes, coffees and fruits for sale at our wonderful cafe.

🏖✨SAND PLAY✨🏖
There are so many benefits of sand play. Sand play helps promote imagination and creativity skills. Ours kids love to pretend they’re at the beach, cooking different dishes and celebrating birthdays. Did we forget to mention it’s also so much fun? The sandpit allows the children to explore all their senses and interests through play based learning. Definitely one of our most popular outdoor play areas.

Today is a very special day for our amazing, dedicated, loving and caring educators! ❤️

🚨Community helpers! 🚨
With everything going on around us we’ve taken this opportunity to have a little fun and dress up! Our little friends here at Little Steps have been learning about community helpers and their roles in helping everyone stay safe! The children used their current knowledge of these community heroes to role play using different equipment and resources.

Today at Little Steps Academy we had a very special visit from our local heroes at Fire and Rescue NSW Station 031 Busby! The fire fighters started with an important presentation about fire safety which explored what to do and who to call when there’s a fire! The children were in awe and payed extra attention to everything that was being said and even practiced how to stop, drop and go go go! Part two of the presentation was outside where the children each had a turn to use the fire hose and explore the fire truck 🚒🧯🔥
