Say hello to Denise, our very first Bankstown member 👋🏻

Denise was the first of a flurry of new members who have joined one of our newest choirs over the past week and we’re getting some gorgeous feedback from them already 🥰

We’re singing at the beautiful Bankstown Arts Centre on Tuesdays from 7 to 9pm and we have plenty of space for you if you’d like to come along and find out what we’re all about.

Fancy making something together this week?

Ingredients:

400 grams assorted voices; soprano, alto, tenor, bass (no experience necessary, shower/car singers welcome)
2 level tablespoons community spirit
1 name tag for binding connections
A dash of shared stories
A sprinkle of laughter
A generous pinch of sparkle

Clear the area around you so that your rehearsal space is fully accessible and all inclusive. Don’t forget to connect your iPad if you’re including friends online.

Before you begin adding ingredients heat the bowl slightly, so that you start with a nice, warm welcome.

Blend all the ingredients with some pop classics and current hits of your choice, adding a touch of soul and gospel if you wish. Stir in some sectionals and garnish with performances.

Remember, the true essence of Soul Song is not in perfection but in connection. So it doesn’t matter if your icing’s a bit runny or someone once told you you can’t cook; gather with friends, enjoy every soundbite and savour the community you create 💜🎶

It’s natural to be nervous when you’re about to try something new, but don’t ignore your body when it’s cheering you on 🥳
