I've finished my 60km challenge in Fred's Big Run!

Between 1990 and 2025, Africa lost roughly 116 million hectares of forest-with the Democratic Republic of the Congo alone losing a staggering 21.4 million hectares.

The recently launched Kivu-Kinshasa Green Corridor was supposed to stop this widespread destruction. Instead, a massive false sustainability scandal has emerged: the DRC government has opened almost 100% of this forest reserve to devastating oil and mining expansion.

Modest conservation gains are being completely dwarfed by this corporate land grab. For a region already vulnerable to climate impacts, drilling in these primary forests and critical peatlands carries catastrophic consequences for global emissions, biodiversity, and local communities.

THE WILD COAST IS SAVED FROM SHELL’S BLASTS!

In a historic ruling today, South Africa’s highest court has halted Shell and Impact Africa from proceeding with offshore seismic testing in South Africa’s Wild Coast region!

For years, Indigenous communities, fishers, and frontline defenders fought tirelessly to protect their heritage, marine life, and local livelihoods from the devastating impact of underwater seismic airguns.

Today, justice has prevailed.

Our oceans are worth fighting for. Thank you to everyone who signed petitions, marched in the streets, and amplified the voices of the people and communities of the Wild Coast.
