Under the leadership of the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia, our school is a dynamic Catholic community that aims to be a place of encounter with Jesus.

We seek to foster wonder, the search for wisdom, and the appreciation that everything is a gift. At our school, a Catholic worldview animates the school culture and unifies the curriculum. We seek to foster the sense of wonder, the search for wisdom, and the appreciation that our lives and our world are gifts from God. In collaboration with the local parish, families, and community, St Peter Chane

Our Year 2 mathematicians have been busy exploring 2D shapes and 3D objects! They investigated the edges, faces and vertices of familiar items and discovered mathematics hiding everywhereโ€”from lunchboxes and drink bottles to classroom materials.

Through hands-on learning, our students brought their knowledge to life by creating their own models of 3D objects. Take a look at their amazing creations!

What has been coming into view is now revealed. โœจ

As a part of the Sydney Catholic Schools community, we are all united by a shared mission to provide Catholic education deeply anchored in faith, marked by educational excellence and accessible to all who seek it.

Inspired by the beauty and symmetry of the rose window of St Maryโ€™s Cathedral, the new Sydney Catholic Schools logo shifts the focus from Sydneyโ€™s iconic landmarks to the spiritual heart of the Archdiocese which connects us.

It lives in our students, our staff and our families across Greater Sydney and is reflected in the way we learn and walk together.

With Christ at the centre of all that we do, this renewed expression reflects who we are as a community of communities, based in our traditions but looking boldly to the future.

This week, our Chinese Alpha Parent Group shared a beautiful morning of prayer, encounter and community. It was a privilege to pray for one another and to witness people feeling loved, heard and cared for.

Each guest received a handmade candle, prayerfully created by our Principal, Sr Cecilia Joseph. It was a simple reminder to continue praying and to carry the light and love of the Holy Spirit into our homes.

After being spiritually nourished, we concluded the morning with fellowship over a delicious hot pot lunch!

Thank you, Holy Spirit, for moving so gently and powerfully among us.

Come, Holy Spirit! ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Today we celebrate the glorious Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The Church teaches in the Catechism that "the Immaculate Virgin...was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory, when her earthly life was finished, and exalted by the Lord as Queen over all things" (CCC 996).

Unlike Jesus, who rose and ascended by His own divine power, Mary was taken into heaven by the power of God. Her Assumption reminds us of Godโ€™s promise of eternal life and fills us with hope that we, too, are called to share in the glory of heaven.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us and lead us ever closer to your Son, Jesus Christ.

During their Art lessons, our Year 3 students have been exploring sacred art through the beautiful work of Fra Angelico and creating their own paintings on wooden panels.

Their inspiration is a musical angel from the Linaiuoli Tabernacle, a large altarpiece painted around 1433. The angel is shown playing music before God and is surrounded by real gold, symbolising Godโ€™s divine light. Fra Angelico painted angels so beautifully that people once said only someone who had truly seen an angel could portray one in such a way.

As they create their own artworks, students are discovering how colour, light and symbolism can express our love and faith in God. We look forward to sharing their beautiful creations!

On First Fridays at SPC, our students spend time in guided Eucharistic Adoration and silence getting to know Jesus more deeply, learning how to pray, and listening to Him. Jesus, I trust in you!

Our Kindergarten students have been exploring rendering this week โ€” carefully observing and drawing objects from the past to notice shapes, shadows and fine details. A beautiful blend of art, history and early learning.
