You don't need to like running to appreciate the marathon personality. As the year 12 are coming close to some of their HSC exams, the ones that adopted this way of working are smiling, getting coffee, joking around.They have a look on their face that I recognise. I feel for the ones that don't have that same smile and wish I could take their worry and anxiety away. Say what you want to say about running, but I still think mapping your route, having snacks along the way and putting one foot in front of another is still the best way to get to your destination:)

Yep. You read right. Steal something.
Yesterday I said something in my senior class, that I forgot I said, of course! đ And I will tell you what it was, but first, let me tell you what happened this morning. As I am lying in bed recuperating energies lost during the second week of learning from home, I get an email from a student who NEVER emails me with ANY additional or refinement work- and he attaches, yes, you guessed it, ADDITIONAL WORK! I think Iâm just losing my plot and delirious, but no, itâs true. I reply with feedback and full of praise- I am super proud. He replies with this:
âIt was thanks to your 30, 5 min tactic. I havenât used for ages but I skipped a break and worked for 1 hour! Itâs just about to starting the work then you just see no reason to stop so soon đâ
This is what I said:â Donât forget to use the half an hour on, 5 min off to reset- that is all it takes to bring you back to a good re-starting point. And if you donât trust me, trust the productivity coach I learned it from â because I am of course the most productive teacher you know đâ

MOTIVATION IS GARBAGE.
When one of my favourite authors Mel Robbins said that, boy, did it resonate with me!! Why, you ask? Because... I donât âfeel motivatedâ to do things I do not necessarily enjoy doing. However, I do feel motivated to reap the benefitsđ Funny that, ha?
So- do me a favour. Put your blinkers on and focus on the outcome- focus on what you feel like ACHIEVING, and donât feel any guilt if you are ânot motivatedâ to do the actions to get you there. You donât need to feel motivated. (You need discipline. But about that another time:)) Go on, DONâT FEEL MOTIVATED and DO WHAT NEEDS DOING ANYWAY- try that on for size

Today I went back to work as a high school teacher and had a day of online meetings and individual time. I had a green juice, some fruit, fish and couple of black coffees throughout my working day. The fruits, vegetables, protein and water I ingested definitely contributed to me feeling energetic and the short run I did at lunchtime even more so. But my question for you today is not what you ate- It is what did you allow your brain to eat. So, what did you allow it to eat? Were you careful what is trying to enter into your thoughts? Were you aware what was trying to enter? Did you consciously choose the âgood stuffâ? If not, take a second, think about your selection processâŠand then tomorrow morning, make a deal with yourself that you will be watching what your brain is eating and how that is affecting the way you feel throughout the day đ Watch that sneaky bu**er !

You heard me right. You are a diamond. Why do I say that? Well, because it is true, but also because I am going to tell you why it is true. Because you have what it takes, it just hasnât been arranged in a right wayâŠYET (my second favourite word). Hey, donât start thinking what my first favourite word is, stay on track ! đ So think about that today⊠and think about the thinking that led you to believe that you donât have what it takes⊠Will leave that with you for a little while đ Happy Sunday !

Well hello â this might seem random, you might think⊠but is it really? I do what I am passionate about every day in my job- I mentor, support, push, egg on, I tell you what you donât want to hear and I get you out of your way đ It is who I am, not just what I do. It is my calling. I have started this business to work with people young and young at heart who would like some help to challenge the way they think about their learning, their organisation, their thought process and even their procrastination đ Maybe, just maybe... even their calling !
