Workplace Buddy Systems: The Ultimate Guide | HROnboard 04/03/2021

With COVID19 making us more remote, now more than ever we need inclusive onboarding experiences for our newbies. Recently I came across a Induction Buddy Program, essentially a role model employee (aka a brand ambassador) is nominated to support and coach the new employee during their probation period. The aim is to familiarize the employee on the ins and outs of the company with particular attention given to its culture. This program brings fourth so many avenues which would allow companies to develop soft skills in staff, provide more coaching opportunities, more feedback that will make identifying misfits easier and its not complicated to interchange it between face-face or remote. With all things its great to have fun, try spice it up and add team building activities into the program e.g. host a remote office scavenger hunt whereby the remote worker has to assist the in office worker to find the treasure which the manager hid.

Id love to know everyone's thought on these stat's and what it will or is meaning for those in HR. I know the internship I'm going to do will be mixed onsite/home as a result in the lack of confidence for those returning back to work.

Id be curious to know if the policies and procedures implemented during COVID19 such as more flexible working arrangements or stricter rules for those who are sick to be at work will become permenate or only temporary. The changes in work conditions enlight of covid for casual leave indicate that we certainly won't be returning to the way things once were.
