Escape the Sharks! 🦈🌊
Our early learners dove into their sea creatures project with an adventurous twist! The children used their imaginations and balance skills to walk the “plank” and escape the sharks circling below. This playful activity encouraged coordination, creativity, and lots of laughter as they explored life under the sea in a fun, interactive way. What brave little sailors we have!

Simultaneous Storytime is a shared reading event where children across different classrooms—or even nationwide—listen to the same story being read aloud at the same time. It often promotes early literacy, love of reading, and a sense of community. In Australia, for example, National Simultaneous Storytime is held annually, featuring a picture book read in schools, libraries, and childcare centers all at once. The goal is to engage young children in storytelling in a fun, inclusive, and coordinated way.

Yesterday at Thrive, we engaged in a meaningful exploration of Anzac Day through a play-based learning experience. Our focus was on understanding the significance of poppies, which serve as a powerful symbol of remembrance. The early learners were invited to create their own poppies, which will be displayed to honor and commemorate the contributions of the Anzacs. The preschool children explored a significant Anzac symbol. Our focus was exploring why this image is important whilst also providing the children with the opportunity to be creative with the use of water colour. This experience sparked important conversations with the children. Less we forget ❤️
