Wonderful friends! Are you a woman between the ages of 15-25, feeling a little lost and unsure about your purpose in life?

Confession...

When I wake up in the morning, I have to discipline myself to not start work straight away. I love what I do so much that I have to make myself wait till after I’ve exercised, showered, spent time with Jesus and had breakfast before I get to work. I’m usually in the flow all day, sometimes I forget to eat lunch, and often I work until 7-8pm at night. Again, I have to make myself stop working at night.

I found something that I enjoy so much that I have to make myself stop. I’ve found what it is I was put on this earth to do. And sometimes I have to remind myself that’s not the norm. But what if it was? What if we all found the very thing that we were created to do?

It has pushed me far beyond my comfort zones and made me confront so many fears I didn’t even realise were there. It has tested my creativity and my capacity and my perseverance. It has tested my heart and character, and I’m constantly being refined.

But my purpose is bigger than me. It’s wilder than I ever thought could be possible, and I know the Lord has even greater plans in store. It’s ridiculous and humbling all at the same time.

There’s no way I would be who I am now if I hadn’t set out to figure out what I’m here for. And that is why I’m so passionate about people finding their purpose in life. Oh it’s the most wonderful journey. 🌻

It’s all well and good to have dreams, goals and aspirations. But if you don’t take any action or put in any hard work, they’re simply going to stay as dreams, goals and aspirations!

Some questions to ask:
☀️Is there any reason I can’t do this now?

☀️Is there any fear holding me back?

☀️How much do I really want this?

☀️Am I more comfortable just staying where I am?

Sometimes we can overstay in our dreaming season because we’re too afraid to actually do we what we truly want. I’ve been there SO many times. I pushed past one of those fears just yesterday, and let me tell you - there’s a reason why fear is trying to stop you. Because right on the other side you’ll find freedom and joy as you step into greater things that God has for you!

I once heard a story about a silversmith who made silver and gold from raw materials. These raw materials have to be refined by heat and fire in order to bring out the impurities - the ones that make the precious metals worth less than they really are.

The silversmith must keep careful watch over the metals in the fire. For if they are not in the fire long enough or have too little heat, the impurities will not be removed. But if they are in the fire too long, the metal will be destroyed and made worthless.

When a young man asked the silversmith how he knew when the precious metal was ready, the silversmith replied, “I know the purifying is complete when I can see my reflection in the silver.”

Just like the process of purifying silver and gold or forming a diamond, anything that is precious or worth something valuable MUST go through a refining process. Trials, heat, fire. It is in those seasons of life where the impurities in our lives can be brought to the surface and removed so that we become more like who we were created to be.

And I believe this season - the last year and a half - has been a refining season. I believe God has been bringing impurities to the surface in our lives and shaking from the tree everything that does not bear good fruit. If He brings us out of this season too soon, the impurities won’t have been removed. But you can take comfort and be confident that the Lord is keeping watch over you and I very carefully, and He will not let us be in the fire for too long.

The fire is good. It’s never easy, but it’s good. It is God’s kindness that places us in the fire and His kindness that removes us from it in the right time. And when removed from the fire, we will look more like Him.

Your identity and your purpose are intrinsically linked. In order to understand your purpose, you first must understand your identity - who you are. How you’re wired.

Often our true identity is hidden under layers of protection, pressure and pain from past experiences. The more you peel back those layers, the more you will discover who you were created to be. And there is SO much freedom to be found when you’re secure in being YOU!
