PERSUASIVE TEXTS 📝

Focussing on persuasive texts using our year 4’s interests in soccer. We discussed the benefits of good equipment when playing soccer, using our ideas to create detailed and well written sentences. We focussed on spelling, grammar and vocabulary all through writing about a topic we love.

Using interests is a great way to engage children in learning, making tutoring afternoons engaging and ensuring children are eager to succeed towards results.

Here we completed a puzzle of Marcus’ favourite game. He unlocked every piece by reading the words first, and then he was able to do the fun part of putting the puzzle together on his own.

We recently have been asked about whether or not we can support children with their homework or whether we solely provide extra work;

Yes! We support children with their school homework and extend on what they’re learning.
As homework is a revision of class work we ensure children are first understanding what they are currently learning before providing them with extension work ✏️

When exploring short CVC words we believe that children can be best taught when the vowels are learnt in this order;

A, O, E, U, I

Why?
By separating the vowels that feel and sound similar, (such as e and i) children are able to recognise the differences and therefore makes learning a lot easier!
