The MSCW Junior and Senior Hockey Teams lit up Moorebank Hockey Complex with a huge day of action. Our students hit the turf for the SCS Championships, taking on schools from across the region in fast, competitive matchups. With sharp ball movement, strong defence and some cracking goals, MSCW put real talent on display. Flying the MSCW colours with pride, they played with determination, teamwork and that unmistakable MSCW spirit.

Congratulations to our Junior, Intermediate and Senior Tennis Teams on their outstanding performances at the Sydney Catholic Schools Conference 2 Championships, held at Southend Tennis, Strathfield.

Our athletes displayed impressive skill and sportswomanship, delivering powerful serves, sharp returns and confident strokes throughout the day. Their teamwork, determination and spirit were exceptional.

Congratulations to Annabelle (Year, who was awarded Winner of the Youth Category at the SWAP Art Prize 2026 Opening Night for her artwork, Spread the News, receiving the top prize of $750.

We are also incredibly proud of all five MSCW students whose artworks were selected for this year's exhibition. With MSCW representing 5 of the 12 Youth Category finalists, our students showcased an exceptional standard of creativity and artistic achievement.

The SWAP Art Prize Exhibition is open to the public from 4-19 September at See Street Gallery, Meadowbank. Community members are encouraged to visit the exhibition, view the outstanding work on display, and support our student artists by voting in the People's Choice Award.

MSCW Term 3 External Representative Sport has burst into action in the Sydney Catholic Schools Conference 2 competitions, with our AFL and Rugby 7s teams showcasing exceptional athleticism, discipline and competitive fire.

From clean, contested efforts and sharp ball movement in AFL to fast paced, tactical brilliance in Rugby 7s, both squads have opened the season with confidence, cohesion and a fierce MSCW spirit.

With momentum building and performances strengthening each round, our teams now turn their focus to the march towards the semi-finals and finals, determined to keep raising the standard and push deep into the Sydney Spring Championships.

On Wednesday 2 September, a group of Year 11 and Year 12 students attended the Marist Super Connect Evening at Marist College Eastwood, joining more than 160 students from Marist schools across Sydney. The gathering invited Year 12 students to reflect on their transition beyond school, while also encouraging Year 11 students to reflect on their leadership responsibilities.

Throughout the evening, students took part in a range of interactive activities designed to build connection, confidence, and collaboration with peers from other schools. The atmosphere was energetic and supportive, giving students the chance to share experiences, develop new skills, and strengthen their sense of community.

Overall, it was an enjoyable and enriching evening for all involved.

Huge congratulations to Kendall (Year 9) and Lily (Year 9), who proudly represented NSW Combined Catholic Colleges (NSW CCC) at the NSW All Schools Touch Football Championships. Both athletes impressed across the two-day tournament, showcasing sharp touch football skills, fast footwork and smart defensive reads against elite opposition.

Kendall delivered a composed and classy performance, showing great speed, vision and leadership, while Lily brought consistent energy, grit and strong defensive discipline.

A special congratulations to Kendall on her selection into the NSW team, where she will compete at the School Sport Australia Touch Football Championships later in October.

Social Justice Day was a huge success as students took part in meaningful activities throughout the day, beginning with each homeroom writing heartfelt prayer cards for people experiencing homelessness. During recess, students shared their thoughts on what social justice means to them by adding messages to our post‑it wall. At lunch, everyone came together to create charms and bracelets representing the causes they stand for representing a simple but powerful way to show solidarity and hope.

A wonderful day of compassion, creativity, and community.
