Starting from zero is exhausting. Especially if you already have years of experience.

RPL is basically like upgrading your “unofficial skills” into an official Australian qualification. No need to sit in class again if you already know the job.

We recently helped a tradie who’s been doing hands-on work for years but had no formal certification. After assessment, he’s now on track to get his qualification through RPL opening doors for better job opportunities.

Curious if this works for your field? Comment “UPGRADE” or send me a DM.

We’ll check your eligibility for free ❤️

Honestly? I almost didn't apply.

I thought RPL was only for people who studied in Australia. I was wrong..

I came here from the Philippines 2 years ago. Back home, I worked as a nursing aide for 4 years bathing patients, monitoring vitals, assisting with medications, supporting elderly residents. I knew how to do the job.

But every time I applied for aged care roles in Melbourne, I kept hearing the same thing:

"Do you have an Australian qualification?"

I didn't. And I didn't know how to get one fast I couldn't afford to stop working and go back to school for 12–18 months.

Then someone in this group mentioned RPL.

I looked it up. I was still skeptical. I thought there's no way my overseas experience counts here.

But I spoke to an education agent, sent through my employment records, a reference from my old supervisor in Manila, and some notes I kept about the care plans I used to follow.

Six weeks later I had my Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care). Nationally recognised. Fully legitimate.

Within 3 weeks of getting my certificate, I had two job offers. I accepted one as a full-time Aged Care Worker at $29.50/hr up from the $21/hr I was earning casually before.

That one certificate changed my entire situation here.

If you're working in aged care, disability, or home care even just casually and you came from overseas with experience, please don't wait like I did.

RPL is real. It works. And your experience from back home COUNTS.

👇 Comment "AGED CARE" below or DM me I'll point you to exactly who helped me. No cost, no obligation.

📌 Save this post. Share it with someone working in care who still doesn't have their Australian cert.

Are you working in Australia but still don't have a local qualification?

Let me tell you something most international students don't know when they first arrive here

Your experience ALREADY has value. You just need the right paper to prove it.

That paper is a Certificate III. And the fastest way to get it? Through RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning)

What is RPL?

RPL is NOT a shortcut or a fake certificate. It's an official Australian Government-recognised process where a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) looks at what you've already done your jobs, your tasks, your skills and matches them to the national qualification standard.

If you qualify? You get the cert. Simple.

Who is this for?

1. You've worked in hospitality, aged care, childcare, business, construction, IT, or any trade even back home
2. You're studying in Australia but feel "behind" because you don't have a local cert yet
3. You've been working casually or in a related industry and want something official on your CV
4. You want to get hired faster or get a promotion but lack the paper

What does Certificate III cover?

It's an entry-to-mid level qualification that tells employers: this person is job-ready. It covers industries like:

• Business Administration
• Community Services & Aged Care
• Early Childhood Education
• Hospitality & Cookery
• Information Technology
• Logistics & Warehousing
• Construction & Trade Support

How long does it take through RPL?

For most people 4 to 12 weeks. Not 1–2 years. Because you're not starting from zero. You're getting credit for what you've already learned and done.

🙋 Common questions I get:

"But I studied overseas does that count?"
YES. Your international work experience is valid for RPL assessment.

"I don't have certificates from my old jobs."
That's okay. There are other ways to demonstrate your skills statements, photos, references, supervisor letters.

For everyone asking: "Do I really need to study the whole Certificate III?"

Short answer: maybe not.

Let us explain

What is RPL?

RPL stands for Recognition of Prior Learning. It's an official Australian government-approved process where your existing skills and experience are assessed against a qualification so you don't have to repeat what you already know.

Who is it for?

✔ International students currently in Australia with care experience
✔ Offshore applicants who've worked in healthcare or support roles overseas
✔ Anyone who's been working in aged care, disability, or home care informally
✔ Career changers from nursing, community services, or childcare

How fast can I get my Cert III through RPL?

Most of our students complete in 4–8 weeks. Compare that to 12–18 months of full-time study.

Will employers recognise it?

Yes. RPL-issued qualifications are 100% identical to study-issued ones. The certificate looks the same. Employers cannot tell the difference.

Does it help with jobs?

This is the big one. Cert III in Individual Support is the minimum requirement for most aged care and disability roles in Australia. Without it, many employers won't call you back. With it, you move to the top of the pile fast.

Our graduates have landed roles at major providers within 2–4 weeks of receiving their certificate.

For anyone currently working in Health Care or Community Services, especially those thinking about building a long-term career in Australia, qualification planning is something worth considering early.

The sector continues to grow, and demand for skilled workers is strong. But employers also look for workers who meet recognised training standards.

If you’ve already been working in roles such as caregiver, disability support worker, community support worker, or similar positions, your experience might already meet many of the competency requirements.

Through RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning), it may be possible to convert your real-world experience into an official Australian qualification.

This can help strengthen your resume, improve job opportunities, and position you better within the industry.

Instead of letting your experience stay unrecognised, it may be worth exploring whether it can work in your favour.

If you'd like to see whether your experience qualifies, you’re welcome to send me a message.

I’m currently offering a free RPL consultation to review your eligibility.

Quick question for those working in aged care, disability support, or community services.

Have you ever thought about how your qualification level affects your career opportunities?

Many workers already have years of hands-on experience supporting clients, coordinating care, and assisting with daily living activities. But sometimes their qualification doesn’t reflect the level of responsibility they already handle.

In Australia, having the right certification can make a big difference when it comes to job opportunities, promotions, or even visa pathways.

Through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), your experience may be assessed and recognised toward an Australian qualification in Health Care or Community Services.

This means your real work experience could potentially help you achieve a recognised certificate without starting your training from the beginning.

If you’re curious about how RPL works and whether your experience may qualify, feel free to reach out.

I’m happy to provide a free consultation to review your background and guide you in the right direction.
