Ahhh-eeeh-ahhh-eeeh-ahhh!” 🌿🐒
Our little Tarzans spent the day swinging on vines, exploring hidden bush trails, and turning the forest into their own jungle adventure. Nature play at its wildest ✨🍂

Our wonderful teacher Kate joined the Boorais for a hands-on, eco-friendly activity making chia seed bombs 🌱✨ The children mixed torn paper, water, and chia seeds, then shaped them into little balls ready for planting. They were fully engaged, loved getting messy, and explored planting and growth in a fun, meaningful way 💚

Through this experience, they developed fine motor skills as they mixed and shaped the materials, while also engaging their senses through tactile, hands-on play. They built an understanding of sustainability and environmental responsibility, explored concepts of planting and growth, and strengthened their creativity, communication, and collaboration as they worked together and shared ideas.

Our Jarjum began bringing our space to life by creating the sky 🌤️
Using blue paint as our base, they explored a variety of tools including rollers, sponges, and brushes—experimenting with different textures and techniques along the way. It was wonderful to see them take turns, share resources, and support one another as they added their own unique touches.
We loved watching their collaboration, creativity, and growing sense of ownership over the space. This is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to see how it continues to evolve with their ideas and interests ✨

Our Bush Kindy program gives our Jarjums the opportunity to explore, discover, and connect with the natural world in meaningful ways. Every visit is a chance to learn through real-life experiences 🌏✨

Our Jarjums enjoyed a wonderful hands-on burrito-making experience with Erik, Adya’s dad 🌯✨
Inspired by their “restaurant” play in the Jarjum room, this experience came to life as a real-world burrito assembly experience . They explored kitchen safety and hygiene in a fun, practical way while showing great listening, patience, and teamwork throughout.

🛒 Shopping Adventure at Local IGA to make Burrito

This week we visited IGA with a shopping list thoughtfully created by parents Arani and Erik, along with input from the Jarjums on what we needed to make burritos.
The children showed great excitement as they helped follow the list, shared ideas, and made decisions about the ingredients we selected.
This experience supports the children to be involved in the full cooking process—from shopping for ingredients, to preparing and assembling their own burritos 🌯
Along the way, they are developing important life skills such as independence, teamwork, and responsibility, while engaging with early numeracy and literacy concepts through counting, reading, and following steps.
A meaningful shared experience that fosters belonging, curiosity, and confidence 💛

Our Boorais explored emotions through loose parts play, creating faces that showed happiness, sadness, and even anger. 💛
Through open-ended conversations, we wondered together how the bunnies in our stories might be feeling and why. These moments help build emotional awareness, giving children the language and confidence to express themselves.
Supporting our Boorais to understand their feelings lays the foundation for a strong sense of security and wellbeing. 🌿

🌏🎨 Celebrating Diversity Through Art
Out Boorais explored flags from around the world and chose one they would like to represent. They observed the colours and recreated their chosen flag through handprinting with support from our educators.
This hands-on creative experience encouraged children to explore colour and texture, develop fine motor skills, and celebrate diversity while building a sense of belonging and respect for the many cultures within our learning community.
