Part 3 | Why Internships Matter πΌ
As an international student and proud La Trobe alumna, one of the biggest lessons I learned is to start gaining real-world experience as early as you can.
An internship gives you more than just something to add to your rΓ©sumΓ©. It helps you apply what you've learned in class, build confidence, develop industry skills, and grow your professional network.
Don't wait until graduation to start looking for experience. Even if it's unpaid, part-time, or a short-term opportunity, every experience helps you stand out and prepares you for your career after university.
Remember, your degree opens the door, but your experience helps you walk through it.

Part 2 | Why You Should Join Campus Events π
As an international student and proud La Trobe alumna, one piece of advice I'll always give is this: don't just come to campus for classes.
Some of my best memories, friendships, and opportunities came from saying "yes" to campus events. Whether it's a cultural celebration, networking session, workshop, or student activity, every event is a chance to meet new people, learn something new, and feel more connected to university life.
You never know who you'll meet or where one conversation might lead. Sometimes it's a new friend, sometimes it's a mentor, and sometimes it's an opportunity that changes your journey.
University is about more than earning a degree. It's about the experiences you collect along the way. π

As an international student and now a proud La Trobe alumna, one thing I learned is that asking for help isn't a weakness, it's one of the smartest things you can do.
Whether you're feeling overwhelmed with assignments, unsure about enrolment, or simply need someone to point you in the right direction, the Student Services team is here to support you every step of the way.
University isn't just about attending classes. It's about making the most of the support available, building connections, and setting yourself up for success.
Trust me, you'll thank yourself later. π

Student Tip from Elizabeth | Make Time for the Student Lounge
University isn't just about lectures, tutorials, and deadlines. Make time to relax and enjoy the Student Lounge on campus!
It's a great place to take a break between classes, meet new people, catch up with friends, or simply recharge before your next lecture. Building connections and finding your community can make your university experience even more rewarding.
Sometimes the best part of your day isn't in the classroom, it's the conversations, friendships, and memories you make in between.

Start Early, Stress Less πβ°
Every semester, there are students who leave their assignments until the last minute... and then spend the final days stressing, rushing, and wishing they'd started earlier.
Don't be that student.
Break your assignments into smaller tasks, start as soon as they're released, and give yourself enough time to research, write, and edit. You'll produce better work, avoid unnecessary stress, and still have time to enjoy campus life.
Your future self will thank you for starting today, not the night before it's due.

π Semester Tip from Elizabeth, Student Services Team
Make the Level 8 Library your study spot this semester! It's a quiet space designed to help you stay focused, complete your assessments, and prepare for exams without distractions.
β¨ Pro tip:
β’ Study in short, focused sessions.
β’ Ask the Library team or Peer Learning Advisors if you need help with referencing, assignments, or study skills.
β’ Don't wait until deadlines are around the corner. Start early and stay consistent! The Library also offers workshops and one-on-one support throughout the semester.
Don't leave it until the last minute. Semester 2 enrolments are closing soon, and late enrolment may mean paying a penalty.
Need help with your enrolment? Our Student Services team is here to assist you every step of the way.
Enrol now and get ready for an exciting semester ahead! πββοΈπ¨
