One of the biggest traps for capable women is becoming highly responsive.

We answer the email. We return the call. We solve the problem. We step in when help is needed.

At first, it feels rewarding. People trust us. People depend on us.

But over time, something subtle happens:

Dependable becomes available.

Available becomes expected.

Expected becomes exhausted.

If this resonates with you, you're not alone.

The challenge isn't caring too much, it's learning to lead without carrying everyone else's priorities.

đź’ Have you ever felt like everyone expects immediate access to your time and energy? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Most people mistake anxiety for urgency.

One of the most powerful leadership lessons I've learned is to ask:
"Is this urgent, or is somebody anxious?"

Those are not the same thing.

Sometimes the deadline hasn't changed.
The problem hasn't changed.
The only thing that's changed is that someone else's stress has landed on your desk.

When we absorb every urgency around us, we lose the space needed for good judgement, clear thinking, and effective leadership.

Take a moment to reflect:

đź’ How often do you take on someone else's urgency?

I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

We’re back live this Wednesday at 8:00 AM.
A steadier way to lead, live: Urgency and Response Time
Speed gets rewarded at work. It also trains people to depend on you.

In this session, we’ll look at urgency in leadership and how constant responsiveness quietly fuels burnout.

We’ll cover:
• Why fast replies become expected
• How urgency spreads through teams
• The cost of always being available
• What it looks like to choose your pace

If you feel like you are always “on,” this conversation is for you.

Join us live this Wednesday at 8:00 AM and bring your questions.

As May comes to a close, I have one question for you:
What are you still carrying that no longer belongs to you?

This month, I’ve had many conversations with women who are exhausted not because they aren’t capable, but because they’ve become responsible for everything and everyone.

Leadership is not about carrying more.
It’s about knowing where your responsibility ends and where someone else’s begins.

As we move into a new month, give yourself permission to release what was never yours to hold.

Take the lesson.
Keep the growth.
Leave the guilt behind.

Here’s to leading, living, and showing up more steadily in June. 💛
What is one thing you’re leaving behind this month?

Unfortunately, due to an unexpected family situation, today’s live won’t be going ahead as planned. I’ll record the session and upload it instead so no one misses out on the conversation.

Thank you for your understanding and support. We’ll be back to the regular schedule next fortnight 💛

There is a difference between being strong and being constantly available.

A lot of capable women have learned to respond immediately, carry more, absorb tension, and keep everything moving.

Not because they have to.
Because somewhere along the way, it became expected.

But leadership without boundaries eventually becomes exhaustion.

You are allowed to pause.
You are allowed to choose your pace.
You are allowed to stop over functioning for everyone around you.

Steady leadership is not louder.
It is calmer, clearer, and more sustainable.

What’s one thing you’ve stopped carrying lately?

Another clip from the previous live.

One of the hardest things for capable women is realising that being constantly available is not the same as being effective.

When you answer everything immediately, people stop respecting your pace and start expecting instant access to you. That pressure builds quietly over time.

Leadership is not about reacting to everything instantly.

It’s about responding with intention.

Have you ever felt pressure to always be “on” at work?
