Zirconia crowns and implants can be an excellent way to reconstruct the bite as long as adjunct therapy of botox and nightgaurd/splints are used for these cases and patients are aware of the risks. Digital Smile design was used to recreate a beautiful 🤩 smile that anyone would be extremely proud of.

Zirconia is a special type of crown material that is as hard as metal. Zirconia technology has come a long way such that it is both beautiful and aesthetic while retaining the title as the strongest option available.

- Clenching and Grinding -

All reconstructive treatment must include treatment planning for parafunction (clenching and grinding) including night guard or splint wearing, botox, and designing crowns and implants to minimize over loading issues. After all, patients who clench and grind can break anything a dentist puts in their mouth including the toughest implants and the associated zirconia crowns.

Thank you Nexus for these beautiful teeth for providing Full arch (non-removable) teeth fixed onto implants. This as also known as the All - On - X (4 or 6) implant option.

-Setup and treatment timing-

This is the most favourable option as it is the closest thing to real teeth and teeth can be provided immediately (at the same visit) or the following day depending on the lab selected. These temporary teeth are usually swapped out after 3 months time with the final, high quality option. I typically recommend Zirconia over a titanium bar for maximum strength and aesthetics. At times this will be paired with a lower PMMA (softer material) to prevent damage and noise creation.

4-6 implants are placed in the upper and lower jaws such that the teeth can be fixed to the implants. This is a favourite option for many people as it typically provides the most flexiblility for aesthetics and smile design as well as immediate results.

This option has the highest current and future costs noting regular maintainence is required and it is foreseeable to replace the prosthetic teeth at some point or have to replace the entire unit and implants if there are issues or your oral health deteriorates. It is important to be aware of this prior and to consider all treatment options to determine which is best for you.

Eileen breaks through for Sydney Airport project - Rail Express Mega TBM Eileen has crushed through a wall of rock to arrive at the Airport Terminal metro station site in NSW.

😁✨I took over this case and converted a dysfunctional denture to full arch upper and lower fixed prosthesis: Nexus provided the Titanium, gold and Zirconia F/F w/ porcelain cutback. I placed this on 6 upper and 6 lower implants with some 🦴 grafting. What a and Such a result!! ✨🥰😁
