This week, our children took charge of watering and inspecting our garden beds. Understanding where food comes from and observing how plants change week to week fosters scientific thinking, problem-solving, and a deep respect for our environment.

Exploring the science of colour and sustainability! 🌈 ♻

Our School Readiness Program encourages children to investigate, ask questions, and solve problems creatively.

This week, our preschoolers investigated how water dissolves dried ink by transforming old textas into beautiful watercolour paints! From predicting how deep the shades would turn to testing their new paints on paper, they were completely engaged in the scientific process.

Every corner of our purpose-built centre is designed to spark curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love for discovery! 👏

Flashback to our little champions taking gold at OELC! 🏅🏃‍♀️🐴

We are throwing it back to one of our favourite action-packed days: the OELC Commonwealth Games!

Our expansive outdoor wonderland was transformed into an athletic arena as our little athletes tackled:
🥇 The great long-jump leap
🥇 Our challenging obstacle course
🥇 The crowd-favourite hobby horse racing track

Every single child gave it their absolute best, supported each other and received a medal for their fantastic effort and sportsmanship! Look at those proud, beaming smiles! 🥹❤️

Illuminating curious minds in our 1 to 2s room! 💡

Our little explorers have been captivated this week as they discovered colours, shadows, and shapes on our glowing light boxes! 🔴🔹🟦

Placing translucent shapes over the light tables turned our classroom into a vibrant sensory wonderland. The children were mesmerised watching how colours blend and glow when stacked together!

We had some very special guest visit our centre this week! A local dentist stopped by to check the teeth of our babies, toddlers and preschoolers, bringing lots of fun, interactive lessons on keeping our smiles healthy and strong!

We learned all about:
✨ Brushing Basics: practicing how to brush away sugar bugs with giant toothbrushes! 🧼
🍏 Healthy Choices: discovering why swapping out sweet treats for fresh, wholesome foods keeps our teeth happy.

An ocean of wonder in our 2 to 3s room! 🌊🦀✨

We went on an underwater adventure this week, diving hands-first into an 'Under the Sea' sensory tray!

Using a clever mix of fluffy shaving cream, real sand and colourful ocean creatures we created their very own foamy ocean world. Doesn't it look so realistic?!

While their hands were messy, their minds were hard at work:
✨ Tactile Processing: Exploring contrasting textures (smooth foam vs. gritty sand) builds sensory integration.
✨ Fine Motor Strength: Scooping, swirling and gripping sea creatures strengthens hand muscles for early tool use.
✨ Language & Imagination: Learning new ocean vocabulary through active, hands-on storytelling.
