Grateful for the University of Technology Sydneys Vice-Chancellor Award! Alhumdulillah.
This award acknowledges my efforts in creating internship opportunities for underrepresented groups, including international students.
As a former international student and a Panthay (Chinese Muslim from Burma), which is a minority group, I deeply understand the significance of equity and inclusion.
Hence, it has been both a passion and a privilege to work on this program. And this recognition fuels me with even more energy and confidence to continue.
Here's to providing equal and inclusive opportunities for everyone, regardless of background, to learn, grow, and flourish. InshaAllah.

๐๐ก๐๐ญ'๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ?
A phrase that we are so familiar with.
It comes out so easy from our mouths!
It's human instinct too.
Our reptilian brain looks out for danger (risk of failure) and makes quick decisions to avoid it.
And there is a cultural dimension to this too.
Hofstede's cultural dimensions theory includes the uncertainty avoidance dimension. National cultures with a high score on this dimension uphold strict law, order, and social norms to minimise or avoid uncertainties.
On an individual level, even thinking of discussions within families, how many of us would focus on what's failing in our kid's school report cards, than what's going well?
Indeed, we are so used to focusing on fixing and avoiding risk!
Ironically, the risk of this focus on fixing is failure to flourish.
If we fix what's wrong, we can only get back to functioning.
The key to flourishing is to focus on what's already right with us - that's our strengths.
This, as you may guess, is not just a random idea.
There is a science behind it.
And it's called positive psychology!
More on this later, but for now...
Shall we change our focus, and ask a different question?
๐๐ก๐๐ญ'๐ฌ ๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ?
I'd love to hear your answer, and see/hear you asking that to one another! ๐๐คฉ

Why should we be talking about leadership? Because it's everything.
From self to society, the success or failure of any worthwhile transformation will depend on leadership.
From this perspective, let's discuss what we can learn from the leadership examples of Prophet Muhammad (๏ทบ)
Looking forward to seeing you all. InshaAllah.

Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ was a perfect leadership role model, not only studied by Muslims but also non-Muslims alike. John Adair, a well-respected British Leadership Academic, studied Prophet Muhammadโs Leadership extensively and wrote a book, which is very well regarded by academics all over the world.
I was blessed to learn what Adair has written about Prophet's leadership and will be covering it at the Webinar.
We are living in a time when great leadership is much needed to be learned, lived and implemented properly.
I hope you all can join in. InshaAllah.
JazakAllah Kheir.

Salams all,
I'd like to invite you to a Webinar to share what I've learned about the leadership of Prophet ๏ทบ, from my Master of Islamic Studies at Charles Sturt University.
In particular, the discussion will focus on how Prophet ๏ทบ transformed a barbaric society into a civilized one. I will also touch on how it is relevant and applicable to our work and life today.
