😇 Today, our staff came together for a morning tea in support of R U OK? Day. It was an opportunity to pause, share resources to connect on a deeper level with colleagues, and ensure people feel valued and supported.

✨ At Excelsia, we believe that a thriving workplace is built on compassion and community.

💙 Meaningful conversations about wellbeing shouldn't be limited to one day on the calendar. As an institution dedicated to educating and empowering others, we recognise the real difference a simple check-in and genuine willingness to listen can make.

🫂 If someone's on your mind, don't wait for a special occasion. Ask R U OK? Any Day.

💡 Excelsia's Research and Graduate Program Coordinator, Associate Professor Dr Mariya Pionka’s book chapter, ‘Financial Literacy and the Evolution of Technology and AI in Global Financial Fraud’, has been accepted for publication in the forthcoming volume ‘Partnerships and Collaboration in International Higher Education: Sustainable Models and Global Perspectives’, to be published by Palgrave Macmillan (part of Springer Nature).

🔎 Drawing on her academic and industry expertise, the chapter examines how financial literacy and artificial intelligence technologies are reshaping the global fraud landscape and influencing approaches to consumer protection.

🙌 Following her successful leadership of a research project on combating financial fraud, commissioned by the National Bank Of Kazakhstan, the Central Bank of Hungary has also invited her as a moderator and presenter at the Budapest Financial Summit in September. She’ll be facilitating discussions among leading financial experts, including Magda Bianco of Banca d'Italia, and Patrick Casey of Central Bank of Ireland, for the ‘Financial Resilience Track: Smart Minds, Safe Systems’.

✨ Congratulations, Mariya, on representing Excelsia on the global stage and contributing to important conversations shaping the future of financial resilience.

🎭Introducing: Shakespeare Wrapped 2026!

🎥Every year, our second-year drama students create a Theatre in Education production for high school students in Years 7-10.

✨This year, we're putting a fresh spin on the classics with an original contemporary narrative written by Production Coordinator Hannah Morson and directed by Grace Naoum. Shakespeare Wrapped 2026 weaves together some of his most iconic scenes in a modern story, helping young audiences discover that while the language may be centuries old, the themes remain timeless.

😍Come, see Shakespeare not as something from the past, but as stories that still speak to the world around them today.

📍 This production will be staged at our Pennant Hills campus before embarking on a school tour. Book tickets for our on-campus performance:

👏 We are proud to share business lecturer and course coordinator Dr Safoora Pitsi's latest research published in the British Journal of Management, an ABDC A* ranked journal and one of the most prestigious journals in the management discipline.

🙌 Co-authored with colleagues from University of Lincoln, the research, ‘How Do Employees Navigate Destructive Leadership Behaviour? A Focus on SMEs’, draws on interviews with individuals working across diverse organisations and identifies three key coping strategies.

✅ Adaptation
✅ Resistance
✅ Exit

🔎 The study provides insights into how employees assess personal and professional risks, evaluate their ability to influence workplace situations, and determine how best to respond to harmful leadership. The findings contribute to leadership and organisational behaviour research while offering practical guidance for organisations seeking to foster healthier workplace cultures.

🤝 Dr Pitsi was also recently awarded an industry funded research grant from a leading financial services company and an AI research grant from the Macquarie University AI Research Centre.

✨ Huge congratulations to Dr Pitsi for her continued commitment to research excellence and scholarship, bridging academia and industry practice.

🙌 We are proud to share that education lecturer, Edmund Sosu, recently presented phase 1 of a research project at the ICET WA 2026 (International Council on Education for Teaching World Assembly).

🔎 The collaborative study with Harold Culala, Director of Learning and Teaching, and Yu Han, education lecturer, examines the experiences of migrant educators who were trained overseas and now teach in Australian classrooms.

💡 Titled ‘Negotiating Epistemic Tensions in Internationalised Teacher Education: Perspectives of Migrant Teacher Educators and International Pre-Service Teachers in Australia’, the project highlights the rich perspectives migrant educators contribute to Australian higher education, while they navigate cultural differences in teaching practices.

🌍 Participants also reflected on the challenges of adapting from teacher-centred educational systems to Australian approaches that emphasise collaboration and student voice.

📚 The research contributes to ongoing conversations about building teacher education programs that are inclusive, culturally responsive, and globally connected. The project will now progress to a second phase exploring international pre-service teachers studying in Australia.
