The 2026 10:10 Conference was recently held at Good Samaritan Catholic College, bringing together Year 10 students from across Sydney Catholic Schools for a day of faith, reflection and connection. The conference created a vibrant opportunity for students to “live life to the full” through music, prayer and inspiring conversation. Throughout the day, students engaged in group discussions exploring relationships and decision-making, participated in communal prayer, and were offered the opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Keynote speakers Fr Sheldon Burke and Sofia Mifsud delivered powerful and engaging presentations, encouraging students to reflect on their values, choices and call to live with purpose. The day was enriched by uplifting music, praise and worship led by Chris Keryakos, All Saints Youth, and Koe Evangelista and his talented band, creating an atmosphere of faith and community. The conference provided a meaningful experience that inspired students to deepen their faith and embrace the opportunities and challenges of their journeys with confidence and hope.

The WorldSkills competitions were recently held at our St Joseph Trades Skills Centre. It showcased students, trainers, and teachers working together to create authentic workplace learning experiences and high-quality competitions. Students demonstrated enterprise, initiative, problem-solving, self-management, and a willingness to learn in real-world scenarios. During National Skills Week and its theme, “Life Changing Skills,” it is a timely reminder of the opportunities that Vocational Education & Training provides, and the impact these experiences have on future pathways. Our St Joseph Trades Skills Centre develops these life-changing skills every day, and we congratulate everyone involved in supporting students to achieve their best.

Good Samaritan Day 2026 was another vibrant celebration of our College spirit, faith and community!

The morning kicked off with whole-school trivia, followed by a reverent Mass organised by Mr. Bradbury and led by Fr. Simon, with music coordinated by our CAPA team.

Fortunately, the weather worked in our favour - the carnival stalls organised by our students and staff were a resounding success, creating a fantastic atmosphere across the College. The afternoon concert brought the day to an unforgettable close, shining a spotlight on the exceptional talent of many of our students and staff. The winning house of the House Cup was also announced - well done to the DePaul House!

A sincere thank you to our Special Events & Media Team, whose behind-the-scenes expertise and dedication ensured the entire day ran seamlessly!

Following the completion of their Trial HSC examinations, our Year 12 students took part in a Reflection Day. It provided an opportunity to pause and reflect on their journey so far.

Throughout the morning, students engaged in a variety of activities including affirmation writing, podcast conversations sharing memories and insights from their time at Good Samaritan, praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet, Lectio Divina, learning about the life and witness of St Carlo Acutis, and a creative reflection on the significance of the Cross in their faith.

After enjoying a BBQ lunch together, the cohort gathered at Good Shepherd Catholic Church for Mass, celebrated by Fr Simon. It was a day of faith, gratitude and community as our Year 12 students look ahead to the final chapter of their school journey.

On the 15th August, we celebrate the Assumption of our Blessed Mother, body and soul, into heavenly glory. This beautiful feast day stands as an enduring reminder of hope and the promise of eternal life that awaits us all. Mary’s complete trust in God’s plan serves as a timeless model for our own faith journeys, pointing our hearts toward the joys of heaven.

Let us pray: Almighty ever-living God, who assumed the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of your Son, body and soul into heavenly glory, grant, we pray, that, always attentive to the things that are above, we may merit to be sharers of her glory. Amen.

Congratulations to the GSCC Chess Club on achieving Overall School Champions, securing 1st place at the recent Sydney Chess Academy Interschool Chess Challenge! A special congratulations to Jaeven in Year 7, who delivered an exceptional performance to become the undefeated Individual Champion of the Secondary Division. Competing against students up to six years his senior, Jaeven's achievement is a remarkable testament to his talent and skill. Well done to all members of the GSCC Chess Club on this outstanding success!

Just before their Trial HSC Examinations, our Year 12 Studies of Religion students had a valuable and enriching learning experience at the Central Synagogue in Bondi. Through a guided tour of the Synagogue, students deepened their understanding of Judaism and its lived traditions in a meaningful and engaging way. A highlight of the visit was hearing the powerful testimony of a Holocaust survivor, providing a profound opportunity for reflection and connection with living history. Students also participated in a lecture on Jewish marriage, gaining valuable insights to support their HSC studies and develop a deeper appreciation of the beliefs and practices that shape Jewish life. It was a memorable day of learning, reflection and interfaith understanding.
