Congratulations to Gordon who obtained his RPL last month!

Gordon had been flying with Instructor Aaron but took a break to focus on his University studies, it was great to see him back and pursuing his flight training for his RPL.

We wish Gordon all the best in his future aviation endeavours✈️

Incredible stuff from our resident Doctor turned pilot Abbey Tan for passing her Private Instrument Rating (PIFR) with us earlier this month!

After obtaining her medical degree and PPL late last year, Abbey was not done learning and set her sights on a new goal - obtaining her Instrument rating. She passed IREX with flying colours after 2 weeks of hard study, and started training in the simulator shortly after with Kayla. After many hours in the sim they progressed to the aircraft and practiced RNP approaches at various airports in regional NSW.

Abbey flew with examiner Mark for her flight test and did a sound job. We wish her blue skies and tailwinds moving forward✈️

Well done to Thomas Wells on passing his RPL flight test earlier this month!

Thomas has been training hard with Instructors Kayla and Clarissa, progressing quickly through the RPL syllabus and making the most of days off work, weekends and good weather.

Thomas had a lovely day with nice weather for his flight with examiner Steve and we hope to see him back in the air soon for his PPL. Well done Thomas🤙🏼

Huge congratulations to Matt Watson for completing his First Solo a few weeks ago🤙🏼

Matt has been flying with Kayla over the last 6 months and had been rather unlucky with the weather having lots of lessons cancelled, but that never stopped his motivation or can-do attitude! On this particular day when Matt flew with Instructor Pete, it started out a bit hazy but turned into a beautiful day.

Matt is now conducting his subsequent solos and will be working hard towards his RPL.

After last year’s successful flyaway, Sydney Flight Training is heading on an unforgettable 6-day adventure across some of Australia’s most iconic landscapes – from the rugged outback to the turquoise waters of the Whitsundays. Pilots will gain real-world cross-country experience while learning what it takes to plan and undertake a true multi-day flying adventure, making this the perfect opportunity for those looking to build confidence and progress toward a career in aviation.

Departing Bankstown on October 6th, we track northwest and into outback Queensland to Longreach – home to the iconic QANTAS Founders Museum and rich Australian aviation history. From there, we turn east toward the tropical coastline, descending into the breathtaking Whitsunday Region and enjoying a relaxing no-fly day exploring Hamilton Island and Airlie Beach. The adventure continues south along the spectacular Queensland coastline before returning home to Sydney.

Pilots will experience remote and coastal flying, unique airspace, incredible scenery, unforgettable destinations, and the opportunity to bond with fellow aviators while making memories that will last a lifetime.

Non flying passengers are more than welcome to join us on this adventure.

Visharl has been working hard with Instructor Clarissa and flew brilliantly during his solo check with Kate, having perfect weather for such a memorable flight.

We look forward to seeing him progress through the rest of his RPL🙌

SCONE AIRSHOW✈️🔥

Last month, 16 SFT students, instructors, and friends headed North to Scone for Warbirds over Scone - a fantastic day filled with incredible flying displays, pyrotechnics, historic warbirds, and ground displays.

Everyone had such a fun day out, with most of us flying up from Bankstown in NFR, VIQ, JDC, and JKE and returning in the afternoon.

Congratulations to Alastair McLean who successfully completed both his Multi-Engine Class Rating and Instrument Rating with us recently🙌🏼

Alastair has been working to convert his Military licence to civil, flying C-130’s in the airforce and flying as an Airforce instructor! Flying with Instructor Mark, also a retired airforce pilot, Alastair has been learning the differences between military vs civil flight - and getting used to only having 2 engines instead of 4!

Well done Alastair and all the best for your civil aviation endeavours

Congratulations to Craig on achieving his First Solo this week!

Originally from Ireland, Craig has been thoroughly enjoying the beautiful Australian weather, and had a lovely day for his solo flight. Craig has been flying with Instructor Kate, who also had the privilege of sending him solo🙌
