Hello, my name is Kalinda and I have been at Murray Toola Damana since 2022 when we first opened, I have seen many children come through our doors and have watched them thrive and grow and headed off to school with the culture and knowledge that we have shared, as of 2026 I am still a educator at Murray Toola Damana and continue to share knowledge and culture and watch our children grow and thrive.

Good morning everyone, I’m just want to share some information about our preschool that opened in 2022, we are an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander preschool. We currently have 11 staff, 5 being Aboriginal from the community, we bring culture and a safe space for our children to grow grow and learn. Our educators are dedicated to their roles here guiding our children to thrive. We are open Tuesday-Friday 8am-3:30pm. We are a non for profit organisation. (which means we are free!)

Warami mudgin, warami mittagar, we continue to thrive here in Mt Druitt. We are at capacity with 40 children enrolled. Our wonderful educators are studying each week to earn some qualifications.
Any support which enables us to continue to provide this free preschool for our children is much appreciate.

We had a lovely celebration with our families. Our Mums prepared the bbq and we shared lunch around our fire, threading beads and having a yarn.

I would like to celebrate traditional events instead of colonial celebrations like Christmas and Easter at our preschool. It would be wonderful to celebrate the change of Seasons from an Aboriginal perspective for example . Any ideas?

A wonderful first week, we created some new signs and we enjoyed eating the carrots we planted last year. We welcomed new educators Dana and Quazi.
