Handprints Management and Jnr Management team have been hard at work today clearing a bit of mess after a tree came down from a neighbouring property and landed on our roof!
All cleaned up now and ready for the children to begin their learning with us tomorrow!

Our former Handprints children from St Ives, Killara, and Turramurra rocked the zone Athletic carnival at Olympic Park today! Kudos to our HP champs! We’d love to catch up and hear more about what our Handprints alumni are up to!

To tie in with our community event, Vivid Sydney, our children created contact paper and cellophane stained glass windows.
This activity not only celebrates our vibrant local festival but also offers valuable educational benefits. Children will have the opportunity to practice and enhance their fine and gross motor skills. As they manipulate the delicate materials, they build core strength and improve hand-eye coordination and grasping skills.
From a community perspective, participating in this project fosters a sense of belonging and connection. It encourages creativity and collaboration, as children work together to create their own interpretations of the festival’s themes. Displaying their artwork helps them feel proud of their contributions and strengthens communal bonds. This activity seamlessly integrates educational growth with community engagement, embodying the spirit of Vivid Sydney.

Bush Tucker garden with playdough

We introduced our children to bush tuckers, traditionally used for cooking and medicine, through sensory play. Our approach ensures that cultural education is play-based rather than theme-based, meaning Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are integrated naturally into learning rather than being treated as a separate topic or theme.
