What a wonderful day seeing our school full of families for our Newman Symposium and Open Classrooms. Our children were so proud to share their learning and all the hard work they’ve been doing. I hear Year 2 had plenty of laughs with the Buzz Off Hairy Legs spelling game, apparently it was quite the challenge for some parents!!

What a day we had at OLR!
Our Crazy Hair and Sock Day was bursting with fun and generosity. Thanks to our wonderful families, we raised more than $1,400 for the Charitable Works Fund, supporting vital works across our community. Special thanks to our Year 5 and Year 6 families for the delicious treats shared with every student.

This morning, Year 5 stepped into the shoes of chemical engineers, using oil, vinegar, food colouring and bicarbonate of soda to craft their very own colourful lava lamps. Through this hands-on investigation we explored why oil and vinegar refuse to mix and created floating, colourful bubbles that carried the liquid up and down just like a real lava lamp.

Huge Congratulations to our TOM Teams! 🌟

A massive shoutout to our Stage 2 and Stage 3 students who represented OLR at our very first Tournament of the Minds competition at UNSW this past weekend!

After 6 weeks of intense group preparation, both teams showed incredible creativity, teamwork and growth throughout their long-term challenges.

A huge thank you to Mr Schubert for his tireless guidance and support.

Stage 3: Outstanding effort on earning an Honours award! 🏆

We are so proud of how both teams flourished and learned from each other along the way! 👏👏
