Today is Wear it Purple Day! A day dedicated to providing awareness and support for all LGBTQIA+SB young people in Australia. It's this awareness which ensures we're all seen, valued and never alone.

🎨 At Preston campus on Thursday? Head over to A Space Gallery for the opening of WORKS ON PAPER, showcasing work by Melbourne Polytechnic students.

The exhibition features works across graphite, charcoal, pastel, ink, watercolour, gouache, photography, printmaking, digital art and artist journals.

Whether you're studying Visual Arts or something completely different, everyone is welcome to drop by and explore the exhibition.

Calling all Prahran students, Chill Space is back for 2026! SLAM in collaboration with headspace Malvern and Stonnington Youth Services will be popping up every month to bring you activities, snacks, and a space for you to ‘chill’.

From 12pm – 1pm, Student Lounge, we will be bringing you:

You're invited to the Fact or Fiction Portrait Prize art exhibition opening night.

This long-standing competition invites visual arts and illustration students from all year levels and campuses to showcase their talent through portraits of well-known characters, be they real or fictional, using any artistic medium.

A panel of industry experts will select the top 25 entries, which will feature in an exhibition at A-Space Gallery at Preston campus.

Join the celebrations at the exhibition opening night:

Following the opening the exhibition will be open 10am - 4pm until 19 August.

Congratulations to Melbourne Polytechnic students Sarah Hunn-Mozes and Ying Soon on being named finalists in the Victorian Training Awards 2026.

Sarah is a finalist for Apprentice of the Year studying
Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade MEM31925 (Boilermaking/Welding), while Ying is a finalist for Vocational Student of the Year studying the Diploma of Auslan PSP51018.

We wish them the very best at the awards gala in September and congratulate all finalists from all training providers on this outstanding achievement.
