BRINGING STORIES TO LIFE: BOOK CHARACTER DAY AT EPIC!

Assalamu Alaikum Parents, Carers, and Community,

Our campus recently transformed into a world of imagination, creativity, and vibrant storytelling for our annual Primary Book Character Day!

From classic beloved heroes to inspiring figures from Islamic history and literature, our Prep to Year 6 students brought their absolute best. Seeing our gym and classrooms filled with young readers celebrating the gift of knowledge, curiosity, and creativity was truly a highlight of the term.

A massive thank you to our incredible parents and carers who joined us to cheer on the students during the parade, and to the families who put so much love and effort into these creative, character-filled costumes!

Earlier this week, our newly established EPIC Football Academy travelled to Parade College to take on their elite Manchester City Football School squad. What unfolded across 60 minutes was a masterclass in heart, discipline, and tactical brilliance.

⭐ Player of the Match: A massive performance by Waleed Asiri, who bagged 2 sensational goals and won a crucial penalty to keep the pressure on!

For our developing academy to go toe-to-toe with a world-renowned curriculum program proves the raw talent and work ethic growing at East Preston Islamic College. Huge credit to our coaching partners at Soccer Lab for preparing the boys to compete at this standard, and thank you to Parade College for hosting our school.

A wonderful turnout for our Year 10 VCE Information Session!

It was fantastic to see so many of our students and families come together at East Preston Islamic College, actively exploring subject choices, pathway opportunities, and planning for the crucial final years of their secondary education.

Choosing the right VCE journey is a significant milestone. We are incredibly proud of our students' dedication and look forward to guiding and supporting them every step of the way, Insha'Allah.

On Thursday, 13 August 2026, Year 12 VCE students participated in an intensive English Exam Workshop, proudly funded by East Preston Islamic College as part of our commitment to supporting our students throughout their VCE journey.

The workshop was presented by Mahde Hallab from Hallab Education who achieved a perfect study score of 50 in English. Students were guided through practical exam strategies, effective writing techniques, and ways to approach the English exam with greater confidence.

It was fantastic to see our students fully engaged, asking questions, taking part in the writing activities, and making the most of the opportunity.
At EPIC, we are committed to investing in opportunities that help our students achieve their best. We thank our presenter for sharing their experience and inspiring our students as they prepare for their final VCE exams.

**A Meaningful Visit from Shaykh Mufti Tauqeer at EPIC**

East Preston Islamic College was honoured to welcome **Shaykh Mufti Tauqeer** on **Wednesday, 5 August**, for a day of reflection, learning and spiritual development.

Following Dhuhr prayer, Shaykh Mufti Tauqeer addressed our Secondary students during their regular assembly period, sharing valuable reminders and guidance to support their personal and spiritual growth.

Later that afternoon, our staff joined him for an inspiring session titled:

**“The Instrument Is You”**

The session explored an important principle of *Tarbiyah* — that education is shaped not only by what a teacher teaches, but also by **who the teacher is**. A teacher’s patience, sincerity, conduct and character can leave a lasting impact on students far beyond the classroom.

We sincerely thank **Shaykh Mufti Tauqeer** for sharing his time, wisdom and beneficial reminders with our students and staff.

What an afternoon! On Saturday, our EPIC community came together in the gymnasium for "A Promising Future" — an open, honest conversation about where our college stands today and where we're heading.

Parents, teachers, and our Principal and Senior Leadership Team shared the same space to talk about our achievements, our vision, and the road ahead — followed by a lively Q&A and some refreshments.

Assalamu Alaikum, EPIC Community!

A Beautiful Day of Qur'an at East Preston Islamic College

Last Thursday, 30 July, our Gymnasium fell quiet as our students stepped forward for the Final Round of the EPIC Qur'an Competition — reciting from memory, with confidence and care, before their teachers, families and peers.

What we witnessed was the fruit of many months of quiet effort: early mornings, patient revision, and the steady support of parents at home and teachers in the classroom. Every participant who stood and recited had already achieved something remarkable long before the results were announced.

Congratulations to our finalists and winners

Thank you to our judges, to our Qur'an and Islamic Studies teachers for their dedication throughout the year, and to the parents whose encouragement at home makes this possible.
