Remembering an arts project of joyful weaving and winding. In October last year we spent a week sprucing up our nest in the Sensory Garden at Flemington Primary School. We had made this nest as part of a wider project with a group of artists from RMIT the year before. A snapshot of the time we spend with students who were deeply engaged in making.

A lovely haptic sequence from one of our workshops. Objects are a powerful accompaniment into the world of embodied practice. We are always amazed at how tactile moments can become pathways to playful, sensory engagement.

Our 4th iteration of the Children's Sensorium is about to launch. This time Bayside Gallery are our amazing hosts and we are excited for it to open tomorrow arvo - Saturday 6th September at 2pm. Shout out to Joanna and her team at the gallery for making installation such a breeze!
The exhibition is designed for children aged 4-11 and includes sense-based installations that draw on touch, sound, vision, and smell to create an environment that is fun, engaging and activates children’s curiosity while connecting them to strategies and techniques that support resilience and wellbeing. There are a variety of materials for play and is a space that children can spend time to explore their senses, feelings, thoughts, worries and hopes.
Once again we are so chuffed to be working with our fellow artists Heather Hesterman (planting and botanical exploration), Fiona Hillary (light), Larissa Hjorth, Playbour (play and games), Philip Samartzis (sound), Anna Schwann (scented sculpture), Hiromi Tango with Moon Girle, Vivian Qiu and Alex Danay (colour and textile installation).
The exhibition also features Yawa, an interactive arcade game by N'arwee’t Carolyn Briggs, Jarra Karalinar Steel, Narayana Johnson, Troy Innocent and Duncan Corrigan. Exhibition design and creative development by Anthony Clarke (Bloxas).
