Santa Maria College is an independent Catholic Secondary School for girls with an approximate enrolment of 920 students from Years 7-12.

The values of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan Order give direction to our College community. We nurture well-informed, articulate and independent young women who are energised by the Word of God and respond to the challenge of the real world with spirit and compassion. Santa Maria College encourages students to cultivate their talents in a safe and happy environment. They have a love of learning, which is nurtured in first-class facilities, by dedicated staff. We have a robust and challenging curriculum. We are proud to offer the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program as a candidate school. We provide a diverse and challenging co-curricular program. Join us for an exciting evening as we showcase the incredible creativity, innovation and talent of our students across the Arts, Design and Technology!

From stunning artworks and Media films to Drama, Dance and Music performances, fashion shows and innovative Design and Technology creations, we will celebrate our talented VCE students and their hard work, imagination and artistic expression.

The exhibition will also feature works from students across Years 7–12. All are welcome!

Our Colour Blast Fundraiser on the last day of Term was a HUGE success, raising an incredible $9,033… so far! 🎉🌈

With just 3 days left to donate, we’re only $967 away from our $10,000 goal!

Every dollar raised supports the Good Samaritan Outreach Centre in Bacolod, Philippines, helping make a meaningful difference to the communities they serve.

On Friday, our Unit 2 Art Making & Exhibiting students visited the Potter Museum of Art to experience The Art of the Gum exhibition as part of their studies into the planning and presentation of thematic exhibitions.

Exploring the exhibition in a gallery setting gave students the opportunity to consider how artworks are curated, arranged and presented to tell a story and engage an audience.

Students will draw on this experience to deepen their understanding of exhibition design, curatorial decision-making and promotion as they continue their own studies in Art Making & Exhibiting.

Our 2026–27 Student Leaders Conference was a wonderful opportunity to welcome our new Senior Student Leaders and begin shaping their vision for the year ahead.

Across 2 days, students worked together to set goals, develop a vision for their individual portfolios and collaborate on projects and priorities for 2027. Most importantly, they explored what it means to lead at Santa Maria College. Not simply through a title, but through service, community and a commitment to others.

Leadership in the Good Samaritan Benedictine Tradition centres on being together in community in ways that bring hope and life to all.

As our new leaders prepared to write the next chapter of student leadership at Santa Maria, they were challenged to consider: How will I contribute to the next chapter of our College, as we face the joys and challenges of this moment in time?

We are excited to see the vision, energy and sense of purpose our 2027 leaders will bring to our community

Today our community came together for R U OK? Day - with a little friendly competition and plenty of Honey Joys along the way!

A huge thank you to our Year 7 and Year 12 students who made and sold delicious Honey Joys to raise funds and awareness, and to the staff and students who took to the netball courts for a very competitive staff vs student match! 🏐

There was plenty of energy, laughter and determination on court, with a great show put on for our enthusiastic spectators.

Most importantly, today was a reminder of the value of connection, conversation and taking the time to check in with those around us. Sometimes a simple “Are you OK?” can make all the difference.

Happy Father’s Day to all the significant men in the lives of our students.

Today we give thanks for the kindness, nurture, joy, laughter and wisdom you bring to the lives of our young people.

It was wonderful to celebrate with our community at our annual Father’s Day event on Friday, generously hosted by SantaLink. We were also incredibly fortunate to hear from Kate Roffey AM whose honest, inspiring words, down-to-earth presence and remarkable story of pioneering leadership left us feeling both challenged and inspired.

Wishing all the dads, grandfathers, father figures and significant men in our community a very happy Father’s Day.

Debating Champions!

Congratulations to our brilliant Year 12 debaters, Aanya, Isabella and Sasha, who took out the Lions Club Debating Competition last night!

Arguing the affirmative case that camping should be free in all national parks, the team impressed the adjudicator with their methodical approach, clear model and compelling arguments, making their case incredibly difficult to dispute.

A special congratulations to Aanya, who was also named Best Speaker!

🏐 GOLD FOR SANTA! 🏐
A HUGE congratulations to our incredible Santa Volleyballers, who are officially Volleyball Schools Cup CHAMPIONS, taking home the gold after an outstanding win in straight sets!

What an achievement and what an incredible effort from every student who represented Santa with such determination, teamwork and Santa Spirit. We couldn’t be happier for you all back here in Northcote!

A massive congratulations and thank you also to our brilliant coaches Marg Cullinan, Leah Spargo and George Santamaria (yes… that really is his name - he was destined to coach at Santa!) for their commitment, encouragement and support of our students.
