Today, our community came together in faith, gratitude and joy to celebrate Santa Maria Day!
The day began with Mass, where we honoured Our Lady, Mary, and reflected on her example of humility, courage, compassion and service.
Mass was followed by a lively carnival filled with fun, laughter and enjoyment. It was wonderful to see our students and staff come together to create such a welcoming and joyful atmosphere.
In the afternoon, each House took to the stage for a fabulous Choral Competition, performing musical highlights from Glee. We finished the celebrations with our much-anticipated auction, where staff generously offered an array of fantastic prizes and students competed fiercely, and enthusiastically, to secure the winning bids!
Funds raised throughout the day will contribute to our annual fundraising goal for the Good Samaritan Outreach Centre, extending the spirit of Santa Maria Day beyond our College and supporting those in need.
It was a beautiful celebration of faith, belonging and our shared Good Samaritan heritage. Happy Santa Maria Day!

Thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us for our Year 7 2027 Parent Information Evening last night. It was wonderful to welcome both new and familiar faces and officially begin the transition journey to Santa Maria College!
As shared during the evening, there is so much for our incoming Year 7 students to look forward to! We are proud to offer a comprehensive transition program designed to help every student feel comfortable, confident and excited about starting secondary school while getting to know their peers and teachers.
With multiple visits to the College, the development of individual learner profiles, and regular communication with primary schools, parents, carers and students, our transition program is a truly distinctive Santa Maria experience, just one of the many things that sets us apart.
We can’t wait to share this exciting journey with our newest Santa students and families!

There is no greater endorsement of a school than hearing our alumnae reflect so positively on their time at Santa Maria.
After receiving a perfect study score of 50 in Media and being recognised at the Premier’s VCE Awards, Rose took the time to thank the teachers, family and community who supported her throughout her journey.
Her words are a beautiful reminder that success is never achieved alone. It is built through encouragement, meaningful relationships and teachers who inspire students to discover their passions and strive for their personal best.

Our Circle of Solidarity Ceremony was a powerful way to kick off Term 3! Inspired by the Feast of St Benedict and the Good Samaritan, our Year 12 students invited the College community to reflect on three simple but profound commitments: respect for ourselves, respect for others and respect for our world.
As each House wove together ribbons to create a single daisy chain, we celebrated the unity, connection and shared responsibility that define life at Santa Maria. Just as each ribbon is strengthened by the one before and after it, we are stronger when we support one another with compassion, hospitality and care.
Thank you to our Year 12 students for leading this meaningful tradition and challenging us all to leave a legacy of respect that extends beyond our College and into the wider world

Our VCE Art Making and Exhibiting students have kicked off their Sydney Art Tour with two inspiring days immersed in Australia’s vibrant art scene.
Day One saw the group exploring the incredible collection at the Art Gallery of NSW through a fun scavenger hunt, followed by dinner at Woolloomooloo before returning for a special evening viewing of the iconic Archibald Prize.
Today, students have explored the contemporary textile exhibitions at the UNSW Galleries and will spend the afternoon visiting a range of Sydney’s commercial galleries, while navigating a few rain showers along the way!
An incredible opportunity to experience world-class exhibitions, broaden creative perspectives and connect classroom learning with the wider art world. We can’t wait to see how this experience inspires their own artistic practice!
