Last week, the 5/6 students went on school camp to Lady Northcote, in Glenmore. Everyone had a wonderful time. They rotated through activities like the giant swing, bike-riding, low ropes, and team-building exercises. The 5/6 teachers also ran a trivia night, and movie night (as pictured). Everyone had a great time and were all excited to get back for some well-needed rest!
The 1/2s are busy working on creating clay coral reefs. Students are exploring textured while sculpting their rocks, coral, seaweed, and underwater animals.
The 5/6s are underway creating clay key holders. Students are exploring hand building techniques while adding, texture, details, and hooks to their key holders.

In 3/4A we have been investigating ecosystems and focussing on Kakadu National Park. Through the construction of a food web, students have discovered just how connected all plants and animals are in ecosystems and how when one is impacted, all are impacted.

Grade 1D have been busy learning all about data! We explored how to collect information using tally marks and then used our results to create a pictograph.
We surveyed our classmates to find out their favourite animals, fruits, and colours, and did a fantastic job turning this data into clear and colourful displays. We also took some time to visit our new school chickens, which have been a very exciting (and fun!) addition to our school.

This week in 5/6C we have been busy planting our purple cauliflower plants in the new kitchen garden! It was wonderful observing the students take great care and pride of their seedlings and working as a team to divide the various gardening roles up. We are looking forward to continuing to take care of our new plants and watching them flourish.
