Today, we proudly celebrated the incredible creativity of our talented young authors at our Emerging Authors Book Exhibition 2026!

It was truly an exciting and inspiring occasion to listen to their stories and see how their wonderful imaginations had been transformed into beautiful books. We are incredibly proud of their creativity, confidence, dedication, and achievements.

🌿 A Warm Welcome to One of Our Founding Fathers 🌿

It was a great honour to welcome Dr. Somaratne Dissanayake and his wife to our school last Sunday.

Dr. Dissanayake was one of the founding fathers of NPSS, playing a pivotal role in establishing our school in 1990. When he first walked through our school gates 36 years ago, there were just four students—one of whom was his own son.

Returning to the school after 36 years, he was warmly welcomed by our students and teachers, who expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the vision and dedication that helped lay the foundation of our school and its service to the Sinhala community in Australia.

Dr. Dissanayake shared with our students his immense joy at seeing the small seed he planted many years ago grow into a strong, established school that continues to serve generations of our community.

It was a deeply meaningful and emotional visit, reminding us of the importance of honoring those who had the vision and courage to build something for future generations.

🙏 Our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Somaratne Dissanayake for his invaluable contribution, vision and dedication.

Your seed has grown into a thriving tree, and your legacy continues to inspire us.

NPSS was honoured to proudly perform at the 80th birthday celebration of Dr. Somaratne Dissanayake yesterday, organised by the Sinhalese Cultural Forum.

Our talented children beautifully sang a song from the movie Siri Parakum. Their wonderful voices, confidence, and natural talent truly captivated and delighted the audience.

It was amazing to witness how naturally and beautifully our children can sing Sinhala songs. Their talent, enthusiasm, and dedication truly shone on stage.

We are incredibly proud of our young performers and grateful for the opportunity to be part of this special celebration
