The Loreto Kirribilli Ex-Students’ Union is excited to invite all Loreto ex-students, past pupils and old scholars from across Australia - as well as past parents, families and friends - to join us at Federation 2026, to be held at the school over the weekend of Friday 9 October to Sunday 11 October, 2026.
For the uninitiated, Loreto Federation is a long-running tradition of gathering alumni from all Loreto schools in Australia every two years, for a weekend of connection, reflection and inspiration.
Our theme for Federation 2026 is: UNITE with open minds.
Federation 2026 will be a full weekend of socialising and reconnection, interspersed with engaging keynote speakers, workshops, panel discussions, informative and creative activities. It will commence with a cocktail party on Friday evening and include the official dinner on Saturday, sessions throughout Saturday and Sunday, and Mass in the historic Kirribilli chapel. There will be opportunities to create and socialise, and time to rest and learn.
Join us for the whole weekend, or just for a part – whatever works for you. Federation is your opportunity to celebrate the shared values of our Loreto education, while engaging in meaningful conversations about the issues shaping our world today.
We welcome all Loreto alumni, past parents, families and friends to join us at Kirribilli on 9 - 11 October 2026, to UNITE: east with west, north with south, young with old… to share stories, inspire and encourage each other, and to connect, with open minds.
Bookings opening soon.
Thank you to our Platinum Sponsors: BRASV Group and MostynCopper.

Stephanie Hughes (Hannan ’87) alongside her six companions, has been recognised in this year’s NSW Women of the Year Awards. As founders of Gidget Foundation Australia, they have been named the NSW Community Hero for 2026.
This prestigious award recognises these seven women for their 24 years of dedication and determination to improving perinatal mental health support, making a difference in the lives of literally thousands of families.
The Gidget Foundation began in 2001, following the devastating loss of their sister and friend Louise, “Gidget”, to postnatal depression. In response they set out to make a difference in her honour, and what began as a small fundraising lunch has grown into an Australia wide organization and a national lifeline, delivering more than 108,000 specialist appointments and supporting over 12,000 families with accessible, timely and specialist care.
Steph and her friends are still actively involved and this award honours their “longevity, compassion and determination” to break the silence around perinatal depression and anxiety.
Congratulations Steph and all the founders of the incredible Gidget Foundation. We are so proud and grateful for the work you have all done and continue to do.
