It was wonderful to reconnect with alumni and members of the Ivanhoe Grammar School community, hear updates from Principal Gerard Foley, and celebrate the connections that continue long after school. We appreciate everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a memorable gathering.

Congratulations to alumni Dylan Buckley (‘11) and Nick Butler (‘00), who recently took part in the AFL Legends Game, with Dylan’s Team Victoria defeating Nick’s Team All Stars by 25 points.

The AFL Legends Game brings together former players, media personalities and fan favourites while raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and support.

Both Dylan and Nick were prominent players for the Old Ivanhoe Grammarians’ Football Club before forging successful careers in football and sports media. Following a 41-game AFL career with Carlton and Greater Western Sydney, Dylan has become one of football’s most influential media personalities through Dyl & Friends. Nick has built a distinguished career as a sports broadcaster and commentator, while hosting the popular 200 Plus podcast.

Both podcasts are part of Clubby Sports, the media company founded by fellow alumnus Adam Baldwin (‘04). Clubby Sports is also home to the OIGA’s Ego Yah Podcast, creating another strong connection between these Old Ivanhoe Grammarians.

It was fantastic to see Dylan and Nick back on the field, representing the Ivanhoe community while supporting an important cause. 🏉 🏆

We are proud to have had alumni volunteers supporting Ivanhoe Grammar School's King River Family Camp, where students and families spent an unforgettable weekend rafting and kayaking on one of Victoria's most scenic whitewater rivers.

Alongside parents, alumni volunteers provided on-water safety, encouragement and logistical support, helping paddlers and their families feel confident as students navigated rapids and built their skills. For many participants, it was their first experience on whitewater, making the weekend's achievements all the more rewarding.

Our alumni also support the School's Beginners Family Camp each year, with volunteers assisting through coaching, mentoring and safety support. Their ongoing contribution helps create safe, rewarding experiences for current students and families while supporting the sustainability of the kayaking program.

What a way to start an AFLW career! 🦁👏

Marlo Graham ('25) made her debut for the Brisbane Lions over the weekend and didn't disappoint, finishing with 20 disposals, three tackles and her first AFLW goal!

The skillful midfielder has been turning heads since being selected with Pick 33 in the 2025 AFLW Draft, and her first game at the top level showed exactly why.

Congratulations on an incredible debut

Tara Neyland ('11) is unstoppable! 🥇🥇

Two gold medals, two world records and a remarkable Commonwealth Games debut have cemented Tara as one of Australia’s leading Para-cyclists.

Competing at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, Neyland delivered a series of outstanding performances that saw her claim gold and break world records in two events.

In the Women’s C4 4000m Individual Pursuit, Tara set a new world record of 4:49.648 during qualifying before backing up the performance to secure gold in the final. The achievement marked a significant milestone for the Australian rider, who demonstrated exceptional skill and determination throughout the competition.

Tara returned to the track in the Women’s C4-C5 1km Time Trial and once again rewrote the record books. Producing a world record time of 1:09.667, she eclipsed her own benchmark and claimed a second gold medal in the Games.

Breaking a world record is a rare achievement. To break a world record and then surpass it again days later is extraordinary. Tara’s Glasgow campaign showcased resilience, dedication and world-class talent, further cementing her place among Australia’s elite Para-cyclists.
