⚽️🌍 World Cup fever has officially hit our Echidnas class! 🦔✨ We discovered which teams each of our young supporters are cheering for, with Australia and Portugal leading the pack! 🇦🇺🇵🇹
We also learnt about the flags of all 48 nations competing. What a great way to explore the World Cup spirit!
May the best team win! 🌟🏆

🎈🐾 Our Crabs and Turtles classrooms were filled with some unusual pets! After reading Spencer’s New Pet by Jessie Sima throughout the week, Kindergarten spent the afternoon playing, exploring, and creating stories with their very own balloon pets. What a fun way to bring a favourite book to life! 📚✨
This week, the Goannas had a blast playing the glockenspiel! They practiced holding the mallet and hitting those clean notes. Students especially loved playing "I'm a Gummy Bear"! 🐻✨
In Week 6, our First Nations students came together to begin learning their dance piece for the Gimbawali: Festival of Stars concert. The day was filled with fun, culture and learning as students connected with and celebrated their Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage.
A very special thank you to Aunty Betty Eldridge, a respected local Elder and dedicated member of the Department of Education for over 30 years, and to Aunty Carol Brown, who has spent the past 19 years supporting students and schools across the Department of Education, for sharing their knowledge and teaching our students about the importance of culture, identity and community. We would also like to thank Aboriginal Incursions Pty Ltd for their incredible work with our students throughout the day.
The boys enjoyed learning how to play the didgeridoo and how its sounds can represent native animals, while the girls were taught a variety of traditional dance movements and the meanings behind them.
A huge thank you to Ms York and the staff at Merrylands Public School for organising and hosting such a wonderful day. We are so proud to celebrate our students’ culture and cannot wait to perform Milkali at the Sydney Opera House later this year!

🏃♀️🏃♂️ What a fantastic day at our Year 3 to 6 Athletics Carnival! Our students shone with impressive athleticism and determination, taking part in a variety of track and field events. 🌟
A special thank you to the students from Concord High School, who supported our event — from measuring jumps to keeping time and everything in between. Your help made the day run smoothly and encouraged our younger athletes to do their best! 💙🙌
Congratulations to all participants, and thank you to the families and staff who made this day such a success.

Today was our K-2 athletics carnival! Students played games to practise their skills and team work before competing in a 100m race. Thank you to all the parents who came to cheer on the races and join our picnic lunch! An even bigger thank you to our helpers from Homebush Boys High School! Maybe next year, Mr Wicks will beat them in their race!

The Turtles have been learning to see smaller collections inside a whole during mathematics lessons. They pretended to drop and crack some eggs to make two parts.
