At St Gregory's, faith in action means supporting those around us.

Through our ongoing partnership with Sayaw Elementary Friendship School in the Philippines, our fundraising efforts have helped provide photocopiers, printers, laptops, fans, classroom resources, care packages, a water tank, and now this wonderful Reading and Activity Centre.

These photos showcase the Reading and Activity Centre alongside the water tank funded through our school community's generosity.

Following the recent earthquake in the Philippines, they serve as a powerful reminder that together we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

We are incredibly proud of our students and families for living out our Catholic values of service, compassion and community. β€οΈπŸ’›

🌏 Multicultural Day is this Monday, 15 June!

Students are encouraged to wear clothing, colours or outfits that celebrate their culture as we come together to recognise the diversity within our community.

Families are warmly invited to join us for Mass at 9:00am, and students will enjoy a range of activities, including our Multicultural Food Hall.

🍎 Students are still required to bring their recess and lunch as usual.

We can't wait to celebrate together!

Today, our students spent time celebrating that each of our brains works differently as we recognise Neurodiversity Pride Day on Tuesday 16 June. They shared what makes their minds unique and reflected on the many strengths, talents, and perspectives that make our school community so special.

As part of our ongoing commitment to being a neuroaffirming school, we are dedicated to educating our students about neurodiversity and celebrating the differences that make each person unique. This important day provides an opportunity to celebrate the diversity of human minds and acknowledge that neurological differences are a natural and valuable part of our community.

Neurodiversity includes differences such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Tourette Syndrome, and many other cognitive differences. Neurodiversity Pride Day is about recognising strengths, promoting understanding, and fostering a culture where every student feels valued, respected, and included.

As educators, we have the privilege of helping students understand that each person brings unique strengths, perspectives, and talents. By embracing and celebrating our differences, we enrich our learning environment and strengthen our school community.

🎨 Creativity is shining brightly in the Art Room!🎨

Our Year 3/4 students have been painting stunning sunset scenes, exploring colour, blending and perspective, while our Year 1 students have been getting hands-on with clay, creating beautiful sun and moon sculptures.

These wonderful artworks are all part of the preparations for our upcoming Art Exhibition in Term 4, where our students' creativity and talents will be proudly showcased.

πŸ€–βœ¨ STEM Week 8 Fun! ✨🎹⚑

A huge thank you to our wonderful Koonung work experience students for supporting STEM lessons today! Your enthusiasm and help made a fantastic day even more exciting for our students.

🐝 Junior School students have been busy developing their coding skills with Bee-Bot robots, using directional language to program their robots and beginning to explore coding on iPads.

⚑🎡 Middle School students became inventors and musicians as they investigated circuits and conductors using Makey Makey coding controllers. By connecting the kits to graphite pencils, students transformed everyday objects into piano keys and created their very own STEM Orchestra!

πŸ‘ We were so impressed by the creativity, curiosity and problem-solving on display today. It was wonderful to watch students test ideas, make improvements and celebrate their successes as they brought their projects to life.

Who knew coding, circuits and pencils could make such amazing music? πŸŽΆπŸ”¬πŸ’‘
