Level 4 have been busy learning and creating! In Writing, students have explored and shown great enthusiasm in poetry through haiku, similes and rhyming poems about their favourite people, places and hobbies 🌎

In Reading, they’ve been making text-to-self, text-to-text and text-to-world connections 📚

In Maths, students have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes, rotation, symmetry and translation ✍️

We’re so proud of their creativity, curiosity and enthusiasm for learning! 🌟

What an incredible day yesterday at our Level 3–6 Athletics Day! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Our students gave their very best in every event, showing determination, resilience and enthusiasm from start to finish. It was wonderful to see so much teamwork, encouragement and participation, with students cheering each other on and celebrating everyone's achievements.

A huge congratulations to all of our students for their fantastic efforts and positive sportsmanship. Thank you to our staff, volunteers and families for helping make the day such a success. We are so proud of everyone who took part! 🌟💙💛

The Level 2 students have had a busy and exciting week! In Maths, they have been learning about multiplication and division, using arrays to help deepen their understanding. Take a look at their amazing arrays!

In Assembly, the students performed a song about gratitude. They were absolutely fantastic and performed with confidence and enthusiasm. We are so proud of how exceptionally well they all did!

We loved celebrating International Friendship Day in Year 1! From wearing our colourful socks and sharing the heartwarming story ‘Herman and Rosie’, to creating kind notes for one another. It was a wonderful day filled with kindness, friendship, and smiles! ☺️

It's not often we get to cheer Australia on in an international competition while we are at school... So we made the most of it! We loved seeing lots of kids in their soccer outfits and of course lots of green and gold 💚💛💚💛
It's a shame we didn't get to cheer any goals, but we're happy the Socceroos are through to the next round!

EAL Term 2 Update

In Years 1 and 2, students have been developing their phonics knowledge through a focus on beginning sounds, digraphs and consonant blends. Through engaging reading activities, they have practised identifying and applying these sounds to strengthen their decoding skills and reading fluency.

Students in Years 3 to 6 have been building their understanding of parts of speech, including nouns, verbs and adjectives, while completing holiday recount writing tasks. They also participated in speaking assessments, demonstrating significant growth in pronunciation, vocabulary and confidence when speaking English.

As part of their learning, students worked collaboratively to follow a procedure and cook Chocolate Chip Muffins, providing an authentic context for developing speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

2026 LOTE (Chinese) Ambassadors and upcoming Lunch Club Activities (Miss Su 苏老师）

I am delighted to announce our 2026 LOTE (Chinese) Ambassadors, who will play a vital role in promoting the Chinese language and culture across our school community. They will also inspire others to engage in language practice and embrace multilingualism.

I am also excited to launch our upcoming Chinese Lunch Club that will offer fun cultural experiences, language games, and opportunities to practise Chinese together in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Over the past few weeks, our LOTE ambassadors also brainstormed and created an authentic, welcoming poster for our Chinese Lunch Club activities.

Congratulations to our 2026 LOTE (Chinese) Ambassadors, and I look forward to another fantastic year of learning and cultural engagement!

🍂👫 Grade 6 & Prep Buddy Activity 🍂
Inspired by Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert, our Grade 6 students guided their Prep buddies in creating imaginative leaf characters using natural materials, coloured paper and googly eyes. 🍁✨

This creative activity encouraged teamwork, storytelling and leadership while building wonderful connections between our older and younger students. We loved seeing their creativity come to life! 🌟

Bringing Science to Life in Level 5!
Earlier this term, our Level 5 students had an exciting opportunity to learn alongside passionate Deakin University science pre-service teachers.

Our visitors designed and delivered engaging, hands-on science lessons that sparked curiosity, encouraged critical thinking, and supported our students to explore scientific concepts in new and meaningful ways. From investigating ideas to collaborating on experiments, the energy and enthusiasm in the room were fantastic to see!

It was a valuable experience for both our students and the future educators, and we are incredibly grateful for the partnership with Deakin University. Thank you to the Deakin Science team for inspiring the next generation of scientists and thinkers!
