Deadline extended โ€” final chance to nominate for the Health and Medical Research Awards.

We know itโ€™s a busy time of year, and weโ€™ve heard from many of you who were keen to submit but needed a little more time.

Nominations for the 2025-26 Health and Medical Research Awards have now been extended to Monday 4 May 2026.

If youโ€™ve been thinking about nominating a colleague, team or organisation making an outstanding impact, now is the time.

Scientia Professor Justin Gooding received the Frontiers Award in 2022 for helping develop breakthrough 3D bioprinting technology now used globally to model human tissue and accelerate drug development.

In 2024, Dr Mustafa Atee received the Discovery Award for developing PainChekยฎ, a world-first AI-enabled tool that helps detect pain in non-verbal adults, including those living with dementia.

Now used in more than 1,800 aged care homes globally, the technology has supported over 6 million pain assessments, improving care and quality of life for patients.

Since receiving the award, Dr Atee has continued to expand his research, securing new funding and building international collaborations.
