💙 Happy Father’s Day to Our Wonderful Community 💙

Today, we celebrate all the special people who fill the role of a father with love, guidance, strength and care.

To the fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers.
To the stepdads, foster dads and father figures.
To the dads celebrating their very first Father’s Day.
To the fathers we hold close in our hearts and remember today. 🤍
To the fathers of babies who are no longer earthside. 🕊️
To the mums and women who lovingly fulfil both roles.
To the uncles, brothers, friends, mentors and special people who have stepped up and made a difference in a child’s life.

And to anyone for whom today may bring a mixture of love, celebration, longing or reflection — we are thinking of you too.

Families come in so many beautiful forms, and today is about recognising the people who show up, love deeply, guide, protect, encourage and help our children feel safe and supported.

🌟 Happy Early Childhood Educators’ Day! 🌟

This year’s theme, “The future starts with us!”, is such a beautiful reminder of the important role early childhood educators play every day. 💛

Our educators are so much more than teachers. They are nurturers, storytellers, comforters, advocates, role models and trusted people in the lives of our children. Through every cuddle, conversation, story, messy play experience and little moment of encouragement, they are helping shape the confident, curious and compassionate people our children will become. 🌱

To celebrate our incredible team, we invited each educator to bring a little piece of themselves to share, whether that was a favourite meal from childhood, a cultural dish, something they love to eat, or something they remember cooking and sharing with their own parents and families.

Something from their past that helped shape their future. ❤️

And what better way to celebrate than through food, stories and connection in our staff room, a space where our team comes together every day to laugh, share stories, support one another and build the relationships that make our service what it is.

Today, we want to give the biggest shout-out to our amazing team and to all early childhood educators. Thank you for the heart, patience, knowledge, culture, creativity and pieces of yourselves that you bring into your work each day.

The little things you do today become part of a child’s story tomorrow.

Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.
