As part of our Reconciliation Week activities, our Year 6 students and FIRE Carriers proudly participated in the Long Walk today. Walking from St Damian’s to Loyola College, students carried placards displaying powerful messages of peace, respect and reconciliation.

We were privileged to hear from Andrew Walker, who shared his personal story and spoke about the challenges his family has faced. His message was both inspiring and thought-provoking, particularly when he spoke about his goal as an Indigenous man: to transform intergenerational trauma into intergenerational change. Our students were incredibly fortunate to hear his wisdom and reflect on the importance of reconciliation and understanding.

Following a sausage sizzle and juice box lunch, we made our way back to school, taking with us valuable lessons and memories from a meaningful day.

A wonderful day was enjoyed by all, and we are proud of the way our students embraced the spirit of reconciliation, respect and community. ❤️💛🖤

Junior STEM lesson. Our Year 1 students exploring symmetry through Lego builds! Very impressive. All students from Prep to Year 6 participate in a specialised STEM lesson every week.

On Friday a small group of our Year 6 student leaders, and the FIRE carrier leaders, represented our school at St Patrick’s day Mass at St Patrick’s cathedral. Our school joined together with many other schools from around Melbourne to celebrate Mass. Thank you Mrs Wright and Mrs Canatelli for supporting these students on the day.
