Today we celebrate all the wonderful dads, stepdads, grandfathers, uncles, carers and special father figures who make such a difference in the lives of our students.

Thank you for the love, encouragement, laughter and support you give every day. We hope you enjoy a very special day filled with happy moments, big hugs and treasured memories with your families. 🥰

On Friday 4 September, our Year 3–6 students were incredibly fortunate to welcome talented Australian author Nova Weetman to our school!

Nova shared her journey as an author, including stories of her humble beginnings growing up in Warrandyte, inspiring our students to see where their own ideas and creativity can take them.

During her visit, Nova guided our students through the exciting process of developing a character of their very own. The students will now use these characters as the inspiration for creating their own original pieces of writing.

Nova was super impressed by the creativity, imagination and wonderful ideas our students shared. It was fantastic to see so many of our students completely engaged, enthusiastic and excited about writing and storytelling.

A huge thank you to Nova for inspiring our young writers and helping them discover the storyteller within!

We can’t wait to see the wonderful stories our students create! 📚✍️📝

🏉 Footy Day 2026! 🏉
What a fantastic day we had celebrating Footy Day on Thursday! It was wonderful to see our students, staff and families dressed proudly in their footy colours and showing their passion for their favourite clubs during our Footy Parade. The parade was a fantastic display of school spirit, community and love for the game! 🖤🤍💛🤎

A very special thank you to Joe Torzillo and the team at Ray White Bundoora for once again sponsoring our Footy Raffle. We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our local community partners. Partnerships like these help us create memorable experiences for our students and strengthen the wonderful connections between our school and wider community.

The day was filled with plenty of footy-themed fun and activities, and was topped off with a delicious sausage sizzle run by our wonderful parent and parish volunteers. 🌭👏

Thank you to everyone who helped make Footy Day such a fantastic celebration. It was a great day of fun, community and footy spirit! 🏉💙❤️⚓️😸🦅😇🦢

Buona Giornata Italiana 🇮🇹
At St Damian’s, we had an incredible time celebrating Italian Day!

Students enjoyed a day filled with fun from a hilarious and engaging Italian performance that had everyone in stitches, dressing up in costumes, to friendly bocce games.

Every student and staff member was treated to pizza and gelato for lunch, making the day even more special. A huge THANK YOU to Daniel and Sara from Pizza Plenty for supplying the delicious pizzas (Instagram: .plenty).

We also extend our gratitude to Mrs Montelone and the Italian Day Committee for organising such a joyful and memorable day for our school community.
