Our thoughts and prayers are with our Year 9-11 students as they commence their mid-year exams this week.
Exams are an important opportunity for students to reflect on their learning, apply their knowledge and demonstrate the progress they have made throughout the semester. As a College, we value academic growth and encourage every student to approach this season with diligence, perseverance and confidence.
At the same time, we are reminded that our hope and identity are found in Christ. While exams matter, they do not define who our students are. We are grateful that God walks alongside them, providing wisdom, peace and strength in every challenge they face.
Northside community, would you join us in praying for our students over the coming days? Pray that they would experience clarity of mind, confidence in their preparation, peace in moments of pressure, and the assurance of God's presence throughout the exam period.
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Isaiah 41:10

THANK A FIRST RESPONDER DAY HIGHLIGHTS
Thankyou again to the incredible first responders who serve, protect and support our community every day.
We were privileged to welcome local police officers, paramedics and firefighters to Northside, giving students the opportunity to meet those on the front line, explore emergency vehicles and gain a greater appreciation for the vital role they play in our community.
The morning was filled with conversation, curiosity and gratitude as students connected with our guests and learned more about the work they do in times of need.
As part of the day, students came dressed as first responders or in blue, while families and staff enjoyed a community sausage sizzle. Together, we were thrilled to raise $638 for Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), helping support the delivery of essential services, practical care and hope to remote communities around the world.
A sincere thank you to the first local responders who joined us and to everyone who contributed to making the day such a meaningful celebration of service, courage and community.

How do the messages in your brain travel from one part of your body to another?
As part of their Science studies on the brain and nervous system, our Year 8 students explored the incredible design and function of neurons, the specialised cells responsible for carrying electrical messages throughout the body.
To demonstrate their understanding, students designed and built detailed 3D neuron models, carefully labelling each structure and explaining how it contributes to the neuron's role in transmitting information. From dendrites and axons to myelin sheaths, the task challenged students to apply scientific knowledge in a creative and hands-on way.
Projects like this encourage students to move beyond simply learning scientific concepts, developing a deeper understanding of the remarkable systems that make our bodies function every day.
It was fantastic to see the level of curiosity, creativity and scientific thinking showcased across the students.

Today, we celebrated Thank a First Responder Day at Northside, taking time to recognise and thank the incredible first responders who serve our community each day.
One very special part of the day was presenting each visiting agency with a handmade hamper, filled with treats and handwritten notes from our students.
The response was incredibly encouraging. Mill Park Police shared that officers "lit up" while reading the messages, with many now displayed throughout the station and shared across the region.
Special thanks to those who joined us today:
• Mill Park Police Station
• Greensborough Highway Patrol
• Ambulance Victoria
• Bundoora Fire Station
Thank you to all first responders for the vital role you play in our community.
Stay tuned for more highlights from today's celebrations!
