THE VOCAB 👇

✅ Get out of
to escape or stop doing something

✅ Foolproof
This is an adjective that describes a plan or system that is so good that it cannot fail or go wrong.

💡 Remember the goal is to feel natural (not perfect or impressive) in conversations. That’s where true confidence will find you 🙋‍♀️

Small talk in Australia doesn’t require having perfect English.

It’s a shared experience which should feel relaxed, low pressure and leave a good impression when done correctly.

That’s exactly what we work on in “Stop Freezing in Small Talk”, a short, 2-week small group intensive for people who already understand English, but freeze in real conversations.

Two live group sessions.
Private guided voice practice with me in between.
Calm, structured, and focused on daily situations.

👇3 tips you can start using today

1️⃣ Have one small talk “starter” and “closer”, and use that combination until you’re confident enough to try out another one.

Like, “how ya goin?” + “I’ve got to let you go but it was nice chatting with you”

2️⃣ There are phrases Australians repeat to give acknowledgment throughout conversations.

Like, “yeah fair enough”, “a hundred percent”, “for sure”

Using them too, will help you avoid freezing.

3️⃣ Focus on listening, not performing.

Small talk here is more about being open and friendly than trying to share something amazing or interesting.

🇦🇺 Memorise them for the holidays 😉🎄🎅

💡A “goog” is Australian slang for “egg”, but it’s not a word people say in general here. We only say it in this expression! 👌

~ I hope this helps during the Chrissy holidays! 🐨
