If you're selected in the ballot, the Department of Home Affairs will send you a Notification of Selection email. Your ImmiAccount status will also show SELECTED.

If your ImmiAccount status shows RECEIVED, you have not been selected.

Being selected in the ballot does not mean you have been granted a visa. You must apply for the visa through ImmiAccount and meet all eligibility requirements.

You have 120 days from the date of your Notification of Selection letter to lodge your visa application. Your Notification of Selection letter will include information on how to apply and your lodgement deadline. The Department of Home Affairs cannot accept your application if you try to apply after this date.

There is only one week left to register for the Pacific Engagement stream visa (PEV) ballot – but don’t leave it to the last minute!

The ballot closes on Wednesday 29 July 2026, at 11.59pm AEST.

Make sure you complete your registration form and pay the ballot registration fee before it closes. You cannot submit a late registration.

Remember, this is a new ballot – if you registered last year, you must register again if you want to be part of the 2026-27 program.

The Australian Government is continuing to provide the free PEV Support Service in Kiribati this year.

The Support Service is running free information sessions online and in person to help you:
• understand the ballot and visa application process
• connect with employment opportunities in Australia
• prepare for living and working in Australia
