Waking up tense isn’t mindset. It’s physiology. Try this before you touch your phone: (4 in / 8 out ) x 3 rounds. If it helps even 10%, your nervous system needed it. Full 90-Second Vagus Reset guide: CXOCALM.com/90sec

You don’t “think” your way into happiness. You signal your way into it. Because happiness isn’t just an emotion…

It’s a state of your nervous system.

When your body feels unsafe (even subtly):
• you overthink
• you scroll more
• you snack more
• you react faster
• you feel less joy
(even when life is “fine”)

But when your body feels safe…

Your brain finally gives you access to:
- calm
- connection
- laughter
- gratitude
- creativity
- happiness that feels effortless

And one of the biggest “safety switches” in your body?

Your vagus nerve.

Think of it like your internal peace cable.

When it’s stimulated, your system shifts from: fight/flight → rest/restore

And when your body believes you’re safe…

Your happiness stops feeling like a performance.

It becomes your baseline.

If you want, comment “RESET” and I’ll reply with my 90-second Vagus Reset I teach busy executives before high-stakes meetings.

Most people chase happiness like it’s a mindset. But happiness is also a body state.

If your nervous system is stuck in “threat mode,”
your brain literally prioritizes survival over joy.

And one of the biggest “switches” for that state?

Your vagus nerve.

It’s the main nerve of your rest and digest system. It helps regulate heart rate, digestion, and the calm state your body needs for connection, laughter, creativity, and (yes) happiness.

So if you want more happiness…
don’t only change your thoughts.

Change your physiology

Your vagus nerve is basically your body’s built-in “calm switch.” 😮‍💨👇

It’s the longest cranial nerve you have.

It starts at the base of your brain… then it literally wanders down into your chest and belly, touching nearly every major organ on the way.

-> Heart
-> Lungs
-> Stomach
-> Gut

That’s why it’s a key part of your Parasympathetic Nervous System (aka Rest & Digest).

When it’s active, your body gets the memo:

- Heart rate slows
- Digestion turns back on
- Brain stops scanning for danger
- You feel safer inside your own skin

Here’s the wild part…

Because your vagus nerve runs past your vocal cords… your voice can calm your nervous system.

Yes humming or singing can physically “vibrate” that pathway and send a “calm down” signal back to your brain.

So if your anxiety is loud today… try this for 30 seconds:

👉 Close your mouth
👉 Inhale through your nose
👉 HUM your favourite song
👉 Feel the vibration in your throat and chest

Then tell me in the comments…

Did you feel even 5% calmer?
Comment HUM and I’ll send you a link to my 90-second Vagus Reset you can do anywhere.

Working on something new to impact people's lives if they're going through a tough time emotionally. Helpful educational content if you follow the page

The Wandering Nerve -> "Vagus" comes from Latin and it literally means "wandering." This Vagus nerve is the ultimate traveller of your body. It doesn't just stay in your head like most other cranial nerves.

Where does it go?

Imagine a long, branching cable or a complex root system. It starts at the very base of your brain (the brainstem), travels down the sides of your neck, passes through your chest, and goes deep into your abdomen.

Along this journey, it makes stops at almost every major internal organ:

The Neck: It helps control your voice box (larynx) and swallowing.

The Chest: It connects to your heart and lungs.

The Abdomen: It reaches the stomach, liver, pancreas, and intestines.

Because it touches so many organs, it’s basically the main communication line between your brain and the rest of your body.

Your vagus nerve is one of your body’s main communication lines between your brain and your organs.

So when people say:
“I feel stress in my chest.”
“My gut is in knots.”
“My throat tightens when I speak.”
“I can’t calm down even when I want to.”

That’s not weakness.
That’s biology.

Because when your nervous system is stuck in “fight or flight”…
Your organs don’t just feel it, they broadcast it back to the brain.

And here’s the empowering part:

When you learn how to “talk back” to your system, especially through some of the stuff I'll share with you here, you can shift state fast.

I teach a simple technique called the 90-Second Vagus Reset that helps you move from reactive → regulated in under 2 minutes.
