Hmmm...two 1:1 meetings in less than 2 weeks with Queensland’s new Chief Entrepreneur, Leanne Kemp! Whatever could we be cooking up together? Exciting times ahead for both Aussie and US entrepreneurs who want to go global!

What an honor it was to have a 1:1 meeting with Queensland's new Chief Entrepreneur, on only her 2nd day on the job! Leanne and I discussed ways in which The CORE and our partner venture fund, 3 Lines Capital, can add value to entrepreneurs in the state of Queensland, how we can drive economic growth in regional economies here, and how we can partner on Smart Cities initiatives. What magic will emerge when three powerful, purpose-driven women unite to advance innovation and entrepreneurship in our respective communities in Australia and the U.S.? Stay turned to find out! I’m confident amazing opportunities for both AUS and US startups will flow from our collaboration, especially with the Sunshine Coast’s announcement last Friday that they have a new $35M submarine cable coming in!

The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) has launched a survey to help explain what makes startup communities so special. We believe this will be a truly useful set of data for the startup ecosystem and we're excited to see the results, which will be published in open source after all surveys are complete.
