FAME Flexible School (SA) students are turning their Certificate in Active Volunteering into real community impact.
For the second year in a row, they planned and ran their own op‑shop fundraiser — organising donations, creating flyers, running meetings, handling money, styling displays and packing down like pros.
More than fundraising, it was teamwork, leadership and confidence in action.

Yesterday we had the absolute pleasure of joining St Aidan's Anglican Girls' School for their Voices in Volunteering Workshop as part of Year 10 Futures Week, a brilliant initiative helping students explore pathways, passions and possibilities beyond school.
One of the highlights was hearing from Rhea, the 2025 Queensland Youth Volunteer of the Year, who shared her powerful volunteering journey. Her story showed just how much volunteering can shape confidence, wellbeing, connection and future career opportunities.
The workshop encouraged students to see volunteering not just as “giving back”, but as a pathway to discovering strengths, building real‑world skills and opening doors to future study and employment.
For schools looking to offer students these same benefits, the Australian College of Volunteering and Volunteering Queensland delivers nationally recognised Certificate I, II and III in Active Volunteering, practical, meaningful courses that help young people grow, contribute and thrive.
If you're a school leader or decision maker, explore how these qualifications can enrich your students’ learning and future pathways at: https://www.acv.edu.au/courses/schools/
