The Industry School We deliver a unique education model where students in Years 10-12 spend 5 weeks each term in the classroom and 5-7 weeks in industry.

This year's theme 'Safe work is for life', reminds us that work health and safety is about protecting people's lives, health and future. Throughout the month, students will take part in activities that highlight the importance of creating safe and healthy workplaces.

One week in Cambodia and what a week it has been! 🇰🇭

Our crew jumped right into the action to build houses for the local families, and even the rain and humidity wasn’t going to stop us.

In addition to teaching our Gold Coast Year 12 students about business as part of their Certificate III in Entrepreneurship and New Business; we brought the industry directly to them. By facilitating these powerful connections with local employers across their chosen fields, we gave our students the direct opportunity to build real-world relationships.
 
At The Industry School, we bridge the gap between education and industry so that our students can get a head start on their careers, while they’re still at school.

🌊 Making Waves in the Marine Academy ⚓

Students from our Marine Academy (Redlands campus) took a big step towards their future careers during Marine Immersion Week, earning Boat Licenses and completing a sailing course, Water Rescue, First Aid and CPR certifications while gaining valuable industry experience.

A huge thank you to Dr Thomas Wechselberger, Jarvis Walker, RL Marine, The Yard Brisbane, Maritime Professional Solutions, and Norman R Wright & Sons for supporting and inspiring the next generation of marine professionals. 🚤

"We know we're not going to change the world, but we're able to change the world for some individuals and families we work with."

We caught up with our CEO, Lee Smith, about the International Service Project (ISP) Cambodia. The idea of giving back has always been part of the DNA of The Industry School. Partnering with New Hope Cambodia, selected staff and students from all six campuses fly to Siem Reap next week to put their skills to work building homes for families who need them most.

Our young people worked hard to raise the funds behind this trip: materials for the homes they'll build, improvements to the New Hope Cambodia School, and essential items for families in Siem Reap 🏠 This year, they raised $165,000 in total.

This project wouldn't be possible without the support of our generous sponsors whose donations made a lasting difference to the community in Cambodia: D&K Foundation, JETPILOT, Bosch Professional Power Tools And Accessories and Emu Gully Adventure Education Group.

$165,000 👏 That’s how much our incredible young people have raised for the International Service Project Cambodia trip this year 🌍

Every single dollar was earned through their own hard work. Across all six campuses, they gave their all and held a Pyjama Day (plus other dress up days), sausage sizzles, trivia nights, and collaborated with employers for sponsorships 🌭

In addition to covering their own flights and accommodation, the funds they’ve raised goes straight to the families they’ll be helping: to purchase materials for the homes they’ll build; improvements to the ; and essential items for families in Siem Reap 🏠

Our young people are about to go on a trip of a lifetime. T-minus 1 week!

From wheelbarrow races to the concrete boot throw, tug-o-war, tyre rolling and the always epic hobby horsing, our young people gave it everything 💪
