If you take a stroll through St Paul's School’s Innovation Precinct (IP) before school, at morning tea, during lunch, or after school, you will see a hive of busy students independently and collaboratively exploring STEM related activities.

St Paul’s has a strong representation of female students engaging with technologies and engineering-based projects. They are enthusiastically designing and producing creations using 3D printers, applying mathematical concepts through measuring, designing and manufacturing projects with Chomp Saws and Cricut machines, and developing critical thinking skills in the Brick Studio through LEGO® construction challenges.

Female students at St Paul’s investigate scientific concepts in innovative ways. From exploring shape, colour and light using the IP light pads to examining human cell structures through immersive virtual reality headsets, students are continually discovering new ways to connect with and deepen their learning in the STEM space.

More than 150 industry and tertiary study representatives joined All Saints Anglican School students in Term 3 as the school brought career conversations beyond the classroom.

Ahead of subject selection, Year 10 students took part in Careers Day, hearing directly from professionals across a broad range of industries, and gaining insight into possible study and career pathways.

Earlier in the term, the Year 12 Explore, Dream, Discover Careers Dinner brought together 126 industry guests, including 48 alumni, for an evening of conversation and practical advice.

Together, the two events connected Senior School students with real-world experience at important points in their schooling, drawing on the expertise of the wider ASAS community.

recently held its 2026 Community Fair, bringing together students, staff, alumni, and community members for a day of family-friendly fun.

At its heart, the St Luke's Fair is about community, connection and strengthening school culture.

Prospective families joined student-led tours to experience the school's unique learning environment firsthand. Interactive stalls, cultural performances and exhibition sports, including the popular Alumni vs Current Students matches, were among the day’s highlights, showcasing the breadth of life at St Luke's.

Engineering thinking moved from the classroom to the testing rig as St John’s hosted the 2026 Battle of the Bridges.

Around 75 Year 9 St John’s Design and Engineering Technology and Engineering students joined Years 8 and 9 students from Westside Christian College and Corinda State High School for a day of design, problem-solving and competition.

Working with a limited supply of balsa wood, glue and twine, students were challenged to engineer and construct a 700mm prototype bridge that balanced strength, efficiency, innovation and aesthetics. Each design was presented to a panel of engineers, educators and Old Collegians before moving to the testing rig, where loads were progressively increased until the bridge reached its limit.

Thirteen awards recognised achievement across engineering, construction, creativity and performance, including the new Aesthetics & Design Award.

The competition brought STEM learning to life, challenging students to test ideas, refine their thinking and see engineering principles perform under pressure.

One of the northern Gold Coast's most respected schools, Coomera Anglican College, marked its 30th anniversary with an elegant Northern Lights Gala on Friday, 7 August, bringing together current and past families, staff, alumni, and community supporters to celebrate three decades of nurturing great humans.

Inspired by the breathtaking beauty of the Aurora Borealis, the gala embraced the theme that the most extraordinary moments occur when the conditions are just right, a fitting reflection of the college's 30-year journey.

The gala also featured the much-anticipated unveiling of a unique 30th anniversary dedication, a star named after the college. The star’s registration has been designed to honour the people, memories and milestones that have shaped the college's remarkable story.

What does it mean to lead with humanity in an AI-shaped world? That was the question at the heart of the She Leads Possera™ Summit, opened by Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate at St Hilda's School, Gold Coast.

Now in its third year, the student-led summit brought together more than 250 senior schoolgirls from across South-East Queensland and international and national delegates for a day of leadership, connection and action. Featuring speakers from the United Nations, St Hilda’s alumnae and leading women across diverse industries, the girls explored artificial intelligence, ethical decision-making and their vision for the future through powerful panels, interactive activities and thought-provoking conversations.

Churchie was proud to host the Queensland Junior Chess Championships during the Term 2 holidays, welcoming many of the state's leading young chess players for one of Queensland's premier junior competitions.

The event provided an opportunity for students to test their skills against strong competition and showcased the growing strength of school-age chess across the state.

A highlight for Churchie was the outstanding performance of Owen Shen, who claimed the Under 18 Queensland Junior Chess Championship title with a score of 6.5 points from eight rounds. His achievement was complemented by several strong performances from fellow Churchie players, marking a successful tournament for the school both on and off the board.
