Congratulations to MacGregor State School Wind Symphony (conductor—Robyn Rosewarne) who received the Donald Britton OAM Memorial trophy for the most outstanding primary ensemble, and had the honour of opening the Secondary State Final.

A huge congratulations also to Brisbane State High School Kurilpa String Orchestra (conductor—Keith Sharp), recipient of the Erica Brindley Memorial trophy for being selected as the most outstanding secondary ensemble.

With more than 33,000 students from across Queensland participating in the regional festivals and finals throughout 2026, Instrumental Fanfare has once again showcased the incredible talent, dedication and passion of our state school musicians. 🎻🎺🥁🎷

Drumroll 🥁 Put your hands up for Ash as she takes us through her favourite CGEN snaps! Our sensational First Nations dance cast opened the show with a powerful connection to Country before the company dancers brought the pop-anthem energy in ACT 2. ❤️🖤💛💙💚🤍
Our Massed Strings Orchestra played up a storm, their bows flying in perfect harmony as the cellos spun in unison. 🎻✨
And of course, nothing beats the CGEN Drumline who brought their razor-sharp rhythms and perfectly coordinated movements to the arena🥁🎉
