Meet Narelle! She hand-made this incredible whimsical gown in just two days—creating the skirt first, then the bodice. 🤯💚

She flew from Melbourne to Brisbane that morning for a work conference, so after a full day of presentations, we didn't begin her makeup until 4:00 pm. Time was definitely against us, especially as we also applied the vine tattoos to complete the Mother Nature look. We ended up going 30 minutes over because I wanted every detail to be just right.

For her eyes, I reached straight for my Artist Selection Flash Palette from Crown Brush Australia, using rich green and gold cream shades as the base. I then layered matte eyeshadows from Blend Bunny Cosmetics over the top to lock everything in for long-lasting wear throughout the evening.

With Narelle's cool-toned complexion, I wanted the colours to remain vibrant under bright lighting while still looking beautifully balanced in the soft, ambient lighting of the hotel.

I truly believe that when someone invests so much time and creativity into designing and making their own outfit, the makeup should elevate the entire vision. It's those final touches that bring everything together and transform a beautiful costume into a complete work of art. 🌿✨

✨ Winter Glam Transformation ✨

Gold and burgundy are taking centre stage this winter, and this gorgeous event makeup look is the perfect example of why.
For my beautiful client, I created a warm, radiant complexion using a custom blend of three foundation shades to perfectly match her golden undertones. Soft gold eyes added warmth and brightness, while a rich burgundy lip brought depth, elegance, and a touch of drama.
The result?

A sophisticated winter glam that complemented her outfit beautifully and enhanced her natural features without feeling overdone.

After 20 years in the beauty industry, this doesn’t surprise me at all. Beauty therapists, Hairdressers and Makeup Artists are often more than just a service provider — we become a safe space for our clients during some of the hardest moments in their lives.

Over the years, I’ve learned that understanding people, listening without judgement, and creating a calm, supportive environment is just as important as the treatment itself.

I truly believe well-being and emotional awareness training should be included in beauty courses. Our industry holds so much unseen emotional labour, and it deserves to be recognised. Finally, this conversation is being brought to light ❤️

Her eyes were glowing with soft smokey depth and shimmer that caught every light — perfectly paired with her lavender, diamante-studded gown 💜
