Fun and games at the EKKA! 🐾🏆

Caroline and her chocolate Border Collie, Hope, competed in Rally at the EKKA (QLD Royal Show) on Sunday, taking home two first prizes — one in Excellent and one in Masters.

More importantly, Hope had an absolute ball. She has always loved competing in Rally, and her tail was wagging so hard coming out of the ring it’s a wonder it didn’t drop off. 😂

Caroline loves having fun with her own dogs and putting her training to the test in the competition ring.

Caroline’s young dog Lockie won two seconds and a third in agility earlier in the week, so Caroline is well stocked with Sushi Hub vouchers. 🤩👋👍

🎡🐾 Having fun at the Ekka! 🐾🎡

A few little oopsies along the way, but head trainer Caroline and young Lockie still managed a second place in Novice Agility — and finished third overall across all the Novice Agility classes, all heights! 🥈🥉He also finished second in Novice Jumping.

Not a bad effort for his first Ekka, especially with all the noise, excitement and distractions that come with the big show.

Very proud of my young man. Good boy, Locky! ❤️🐾

🐾 Getting Ekka-ready… Lockie style

Caroline and Lockie are off to the Ekka on Monday to compete in Agility Dog and Jumping Dog.

Are they expecting to win? Absolutely not. 😂

Caroline isn’t as young as she once was, and running at the speed of light to keep up with Lockie can be a bit of a challenge these days.

Luckily, Lockie is a gentleman. He waits for her. ❤️

And he LOVES agility. He was bred for it, his dad and family are agility dogs, and Lockie thinks this new game is one of Mum’s better ideas.

So Monday is about having fun and getting around the course together — however slow and sedate the human half of the team might be.

But first:

🛁 “Lockie, you’re going to the Ekka on Monday. You need a bath.”

Bath completed. Beautifully clean. Fluffy white ruff. Looking very smart.

Mum put him outside to dry.

Lockie promptly found the one patch of dirt in the entire yard… and rolled in it. 🤦‍♀️

Perhaps he’d heard there would be lots of beautifully groomed show dogs at the Ekka and wanted to make absolutely certain there was no confusion.

🐾 “I’m an agility dog, Mum. We don’t do pretty.”

He came back looking enormously pleased with himself.

Two sleeps to go.

Possibly two baths. 🛁😂

One ear up… one ear down…

Tomorrow? Your guess is as good as mine!

Every day brings a new ear arrangement for 14-week-old Koolie pup Blink, the latest addition to the CLEAR Dog Training team.

Sometimes you’d be forgiven for thinking her ears are holding a daily meeting.

Left ear: “I’ll be in charge today.”

Right ear: “Nah… I’m taking the day off.”

Blink doesn’t seem the slightest bit concerned. She’s far too busy learning, exploring, stealing hearts and discovering that the world is one big adventure.

The ears will sort themselves out eventually… but for now, we’re thoroughly enjoying the daily comedy show. ❤️🐾

Somebody has very strong opinions about winter… ❄️😂

Puppy Blink has decided this cold, rainy weather is completely unacceptable. Her solution? She stole the big, soft, cosy throw from the lounge, dragged it all the way across the room to her favourite spot, and promptly curled up on it like she’d paid for it. 🛋️🐶

Yesterday, when the blanket was out of reach, she simply wandered into the bedroom, found a suitable replacement, and dragged that out instead. 🤦‍♀️😂

At just 13 weeks old, this cheeky little Koolie already knows exactly what she wants—and apparently, it’s maximum comfort! I have a feeling she’s going to keep us laughing at CLEAR Dog Training for a very long time. ❤️
