Griffith University is thrilled to join key players in the Australian aviation and green hydrogen industries to launch the Hydrogen Flight Alliance (HFA) at Brisbane Airport.
The aim of the alliance is to ensure Australia plays a leading role in the aviation industryβs transition towards net-zero by 2050, and its first mission is to enable Australiaβs first commercial emission-free hydrogen-powered flight between Brisbane and Gladstone in 2026.
Queensland icon Johnathan Thurston is co-owner of Skytrans, who will operate the route.
Griffith climate and aviation experts will play key roles in the lead up to this exciting outcome - the sky is the limit!

Even if the industry could make the shift, thereβs not enough land or renewable energy potential on Earth to produce all the sustainable fuels airlines need βοΈ
