Breeders and Importers of Quality Orchids

Be aware of where you get your information. There is a rapid increase in very professional and pretty looking AI posters that have some very questionable information. The three species that are shown on this photo are totally fictional photos. No plant looks like that and certainly not the species it is claiming. AI sources its information from collective wisdom as well as collective idiocy plus some total fabrication. I am part of a lot of orchids groups on Facebook as are a lot of excellent growers. There is great collective wisdom online without needing to share made up stuff.

We have been preparing plants today for the two orchid shows this weekend. If you want to see my smiling face, as well as a great display of natives, come along to Toowoomba's Native Orchid Show. If you are in Brisbane, head to Belmont for Queensland Orchid Society's Spring Show. Or plan your weekend so you can get to both!

It's that time of year! At least one orchid show on every weekend and 100 flasks turning up every week. We have some really exciting breeding coming through! If I have a chance I'll post some photos of some of our first flowering crosses. If I don't, you'll know what happened 🤣

What else are we bringing to the native orchid show on the weekend? Lots of flowering plants! Lots of flowering native Dendrobiums both big and small and, if we can squeeze them onto the table, some flowering Cattleyas as well.

What are we getting ready to take to the Native Orchid Show at Lawnton on the weekend? Lots and lots and lots of natives! Here are some photos of some of the native orchids we will be selling. Last call for preorders. We won't be bringing any of our normal Cattleyas to this show unless you especially request them. Stay tuned for some more preview photos over the next couple of days.

New on our website this week are two new Cattleya crosses. It doesn't take much imagination to see what colour you will get from these. The two white parents are crisp and pure and should produce offspring with big flat flowers on mid sized plants. The red parents will produce clusters of flowers and start flowering on quite small plants. Peruse and purchase our full range of orchids here: https://www.kingfisherorchidnursery.com.au/collections/all?sort_by=created-descending
We post Australia wide, except the NT.

Spring is here - at least that's what the orchids say! Here are the details for our August shows. If you want us to bring something specific for you, get in early. The natives take pride of place in August so we won't be bringing a lot of Cattleyas to most of these shows unless you ask for them. If you don't live in South East Queensland, check our website to see when we are coming to a show near you or order online and we will post straight to you https://www.kingfisherorchidnursery.com.au/pages/orchid-shows
